Vwl And Fw

CAN YOU WALK TO THE FW RESORT IF YOU ARE STAYING AT THE VWL.DOES THE FW RESORT GUESTS SHARE THE SAME POOL AS VWL OR DO THEY HAVE THEIR OWN POOL? DOES THE 25% CASH DISCOUNT APPLY TO THE FW RESORT?

no the VWL does not share the pool with FW - VWL shares the pool with WL. FW guests aren't surpose to be using either the WL or VWL pools. Lately WL is enforcing this rule.

the 25% discount only applies to DVC resort - FW is not a DVC resort - but they generally have a low rate for their cabins.

FW is a campground.

you can walk, take a boat or ride a bus to FW from WL/VWL.

FW does have it's own pool. It is a very nice pool, but not themed like the rest of them. It is located by the movie theater area and bike rentals. There is also a game room and a snack place(I think) with pinic tables and stuff. It is a really nice area. We have camped there many times, until we joined DVC. Like them both though. Some of the sites even have cable TV. I am sure if they all do.

Does anyone know how long is the walk to FW is?
Is this really doable, or just possible?
I'm assuming it's done on the bike path, right?

I just watched a 'Great Hotels' episode this week with Samantha Brown on Wilderness Lodge, and it showed her walking over to FW from WL. She said on the show that it is about 1 mile.

We've walked it a couple of times, and I'd say it took a leisurely 20 minutes. However, in humid, 95 degree August weather, I was pretty miserable.

just imho, but I'd say its a lot more like 1/2 mile than 1 mile - Samantha Brown probably didn't get a message or herbal treatment on the way so it seemed longer to her Remember, too, the boat and the bus goes both ways. I think there are two pools at ft. wilderness, but we always see a lot of bikes from ft. wilderness parked at the wl pool. I'll be glad if they are more strictly enforcing it - I wouldn't be surprised if they have been during the busier times of spring break then slack off of it during the slower times, if I know the wl like I think I do.
