I think I have read here that VWL is pretty hard to get if it's not your home resort.

I am planning a November trip before Thanksgiving (but the Sunday-Wednesday in the same week before the peak season kicks in).

If I call 7 months out, do I have a chance.

I am certainly going to try, but am wondering if it's that hard to come by a studio at that time.

I know the dates and room size are different but I was amazed yesterday (22 March) to book 13 nights at VWL for May 1st! Now that is short notice! Everything was available except BCV.

I thought we would never get in VWL as it is small and our home is SSR. Delighted to try a new resort and be near MK for DD nearly 2.

Good luck!

I don't think it should be a problem. Kids are still in school, but sometimes there are special events to be aware of. If so, remember the two little words, "wait list"

Experts here say to book your home resort at 11 months and try to switch at 7. That way you're not shut out of the days you want.

I called yesterday (we own at VWL) for the Wednesday before and Thanksgiving day and had to waitlist for a 2 bedroom. I don't know about chances getting VWL the week before. Maybe that would just beat the Thanksgiving crowd. Good luck!

I got the VWL (home resort) for Thanksgiving week (studio) at 9 months out. The member services rep was as surprised I was, so don't give up. Lots of plans will be changing between now and November.

Friends and I booked a 1 bedroom for early March in early January, a little less than 2 months before.

I transfered day by day for my upcoming trip. 5 nights VWL and 5 nights BCV--good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement on this. I'm hoping for a studio. I think VWL will be the perfect place in the fall.
Can't wait!

We booked a studio in VWL just three months out (booked for late Feb/early March) back in late November without any problem. Good Luck!

Debbiedo everytime I see your shimmering tink I sit and stare. I absolutely love her.

I booked a studio at VWL in January for a week in June with no problem. In February we decided that we wanted a 1-bedroom instead of a studio, and were able to book the same week at VWL. Our home resort is SSR.

My wife and I decided on a Xmas trip to Disney in July last year (5 months before trip). Called to see where we might get a studio for six consecutive nights starting on Dec. 24th. Had a prioritized list of resorts in hand so we could work down through to the bottom if our top choices were not available.
First choice VWL - available!!!!!!!!! Whether somebody had just cancelled or due to the studio accomodation, we were amazed. Good luck!

You should not have a problem getting a studio as long as you are not staying for Thanksgiving. Last July I was waiting to close on our first resale for VWL. I was sweating it out because I wanted to stay at VWL the weekend before Thanksgiving, leaving the day before Thanksgiving. I had to wait until August to book our studio and had no problem at all getting the studio for the nights I wanted. I thought for sure I would be placed on the waitlist. I was shocked when MS told me the room was available!!!!!

Last week I just decided to add one more night to my June stay at VWL (studio) and had no problem getting that one night added on either. I guess studios are easier to reserve than a 1 or 2 bedroom.

I also have a waitlist success story..............In August I was waitlisted for a short period of time on any studio for a short 2 night Dec. trip. I really wanted to stay at my home resort VWL but was going to take any available studio. Guess what room became available...........VWL!!!!

I hope you have the same great luck I've been having with booking rooms.
