Just checked for my BIL (we already booked a studio day by day) and some days were available but not the whole week except for 1BR. That only took 2 weeks.

hey if all the resorts book up this soon for Christmas - maybe DVC will go back to their lottery.....

that was alot fairer to people who own at VB and Hh....

I think it is the "way of the future". As more and more contracts are sold on the resale market, the demographics are going to change so that more people who own resorts are buying them because they want to stay there.

I just booked a studio for 12/22/06 to 12/26 ,wait list for the 26th and then a studio for 12/27 to 12/30/06. I booked a 1 BDR for the 26th. Wednesday is the waitlist night. Kind of weird. :confused3

Disagree - VB & HHI have the same chance to book at 7 months as anyone else. If they wanted a guarantee that they could stay on site for popular times, they should have bought an on site resort. Before 7 months, owners should have exclusive booking rights for the resort they purchased. That's fair to me.

AFAIK, VWL is the only resort that is pretty well booked up for Christmas. Since it's so small and so popular during the Holiday season, I'm not surprised. And I wouldn't be surprised if things changed a bit at the 7 month mark.

I hated the whole idea of the lottery - IMHO, it was only established to save DVC/MS the headaches they thought they would get from people calling for that popular timeframe. Once they figured out it wasn't all that bad (and in fact not all available rooms were even booked by the lottery players the last few years before they stopped it), they quit doing it.

IIRC, there was no home resort advantage for Christmas when the lottery was in effect. In other words, an OKW owner had the same chance of getting a BWV reservation through the lottery as I did, even though I own BWV. I don't think that is right and never will. It may be "legal" according to the documents we signed ( I know that it is, LOL), but I still don't think it is fair (and I never will unless everyone pays the same dues regardless of resort). I was very happy when DVC stopped the lottery proess. The home resort booking advantage is tthe only reason I am willing to pay the BWV's higher dues!

I also don't think it is even necessary to re-establish the lottery. If DVC wants to "cool down" the demand for Christmas reservations, it can just reallocate points and make premier season even more expensive.

More than you wanted to read, right?
Best wishes -
