I know this info is somewhere, just can't find it

How many of the VWL 2br units are dedicated? And do I understand that there is 1 queen bed and a sleeper sofa in the studio or 2nd br of the 2BR?

Thanks!!

Kayla

My understanding of VWL is that if it's a lock-off, the 2nd br has the studio bed arrangement of sofa bed and queen. However, in a dedicated 2br at VWL, the 2nd br has 2 queen beds. We have stayed in a lovely dedicated 2br at VWL and were very pleased to not deal with the fold-out bed situation!

as the above poster stated..... Lock offs have the 2nd bedroom (aka studio) with a queen and a pull out.... dedicated have 2 queens in the second bedroom

I thought the only 2nd bedroom that had 2 queen beds instead of 1 queen bed and sofa/sleeper was the dedicated at BCV??? And of course, OKW. Do other resorts also have this 2 QB option in 2nd BR?

So how many dedicated 2 br are there? Is this something I can request when I make my ressie? Is this really hard to get?

Thanks,

Kayla

I don't have the answer to your question as to how many dedicated 2BR's are in VWL, but all 3 times we have stayed in a 2 BR, it was in a dedicated 2BR. And yes, when you make your reservation MS will be able to tell you if a dedicated 2BR is available.

And you will know you have it by looking at your reservations paperwork, too -- it will say lock-off or dedicated right on it.

Sadly, no dedicated 2brs at BWV. It is the one thing that bums me out about our home resort!

According to the ever-knowledgable InstImpres (aka Sandy) who keeps track of these things there are
44 dedicated 2BRs
45 lockoff 2BRs
at VWL.
She has also compiled a great list of room reports with useful info like view, distance to elevators, smoking or non, all that kinda stuff. I will leave it to her to give you the link, as I only have the one for BWV bookmarked.

As for your next question, you should request a dedicated (or lockoff, as you prefer) at the time of reservation, or as soon as possible afterward. Since it is a roughly 50-50 split, I expect that it should not be too hard to get, provided you are reserving early enough.

good luck and enjoy

The confusion regarding the 2nd bedroom beds may come from BCV's quirk. Some of the dedicated 2 bedroom's 2nd bedroom do indeed have the sleeper sofa and a queen size regular bed. The reason as I understand is due to ADA compliance. Some of the rooms would be "unacessable" to wheelchairs if two queen beds were in the room.

Anyone have the details as to how many are thusly affected?

I thought the BCV problem with the dedicated units was with a second queen in some, you wouldn't be able to access the balcony, that's why they had to put some sleepers in. I could be wrong, though. :)
