VWL 2008 Refurbishment ?

So we stayed in 1547 at the villas, a studio, a month ago and I slept on the open up couch. The couch still had the old mattress on it with the oh so comfortable middle bar . I thought all the sofabeds were upgraded in the last refurb which was suppose to be completed by November 2008. Was I just an unlucky one that didn't get changed out yet ? The curtains and bedding looked new but I thought we were suppose to get the new memory foam beds on the sofa. Oh and the TVs were not flat screens yet so I would think those would be upgraded soon too. Does anyone have any inside news on what was suppose to be refurbished? and any plans for 2009?

Hmmm..I would love to hear more about this. We are going in April with friends and my two DSs will be on the sofa. I guess I'll need to pack that aerobed just in case

When we were at the VWL in late October this year, we were in a refurbished 5th floor studio and I was very surprised how comfortable the sofabed was - the sofa and it's mattress were obviously new. Do you think somehow they missed that one or intentionally left an old mattress there? I would send a note to DVC member services with the suite #.

My Wife and I stayed in Room 1551 15-19 December, and they actually changed out the couch on the 18th while we were at Epcot. Staff left a great voicemail explaining the change out and hoped that they had not disturbed anything.

By the way, we had a wonderful time at the Villa's, it was our first visit to the Lodge, our first visit as DVC owners and we celebrated our 27 Anniversary. Could not get much better, but it does, we are going to take our daughter, son-in-law, and 4 grandkids in December 2009. Wooo-hoo! Sorry for talking off topic.

So glad you had a great time! We love the Villas and The lodge was where we took our boys for our very first Disney trip! We can't wait for our trip in April to show the villas to our friends. Oh, Congrats!!

CT Bev&Jeff: If I could figure out how to put your reply in a quote I would but ... I'll be heading down to a dedicated 2 bedroom at the WLV next December with my sister, BIL, 2 nieces and my mom and dad. I can't wait. I will start to make the reservation next week. Also glad to hear that they changed out your room which was 2 doors away from mine later in December. 1547 is also probably changed now - figures that I had to spend one last week with the bar.

LVSWL - The Wilderness Lodge was everything we thought it would be. Just incredible. We are so glad that is where we purchased.

ccigliano - Just wanted to make clear that they changed the entire couch out, not just the mattress. Although we did not use it. Also the TV was not changed out, we were hoping to see a flat panel TV along with the couch, but no such luck.

We are in the planning stage to call for our Dec 2009 reservations. We will see how it goes. Good luck with your reservations for Dec 2009 also!

Upstate NY? I am from Owego, NY, but live in CT now. Always thought it was funny that we were from Upstate NY, but lived 20 miles from the PA boarder.
