VRBO Insurance?

Hi, not sure where to post this, but Disboards always helps me out! Does anyone know or recommend an insurance company if you're booking through VRBO? Some of the homes you loose your $ a month or two prior to your stay. My husband and I both have older parents, and I would just feel better if I had some ins. Never booked a home before, but visiting friends on the west coast, and you get so much more space for the $. Thank you!

I search on insuremytrip.com. they have plans from a number of companies, and you can compare. They are also good on the phone if you have questions.

Friends own a place at the beach they list on VRBO. There is a way you can communicate with the owner to ask about your particular situation. Might find some who are agreeable to cancelling your reservation if an issue arises that prevents you from traveling. That would eliminate the need for any type of insurance. With VRBO you are dealing with individual owners who can be flexible regarding special situations.
