VP Is Visiting DLR This Weeknd + Protesters

I bet there aren't many people who know where that photo is from....😊
Okay, I'll admit the rest of my ignorance publicly: I don't know what "LAMOed" means (I got the "GTFO" once it was separated out...), and I don't know where the photo is from, so I'd appreciate edification. (If any of the answers are something one doesn't want to post publicly, feel free to DM me. :-) )

I'm late to the party... just wanted to share my experience since I was there the day JD Vance and family visited. This was a last-minute trip so were not staying onsite this time, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orange County and took their shuttle to DL everyday. On this particular day we saw a lot of protesters on Harbor during our shuttle rides.

In the evening, we were on Pirates and the ride broke. We were only 2-3 boats away from the debarkation area but were stuck for 45 minutes! The security officers that came to talk to us told us that between the parade crossing the park at the moment and the extra security in the park because of the VP visit, they couldn't get the equipment they needed across the park to get the ride going again. Some people on our boat did not like the thought that JD Vance's presence was exacerbating our inconvenience, lol...

Anyway, eventually, they brought ladders and ramps and those of us who were able-bodied got off. We got an anytime LL because of the ordeal. We thought of using it on Roger Rabbit but it seemed like the Vance family got Toontown for the first half of the evening because nobody could go in there and the rides were showing no wait times for a while. Luckily, we still made it to the front of the castle in time for Wondrous Journey, which was our only other plan, and used the LL after at Indy before catching the second PTN. Interesting evening!

Thanks for sharing. You usually stay onsite, right? What did you think of the Hyatt Regency + shuttle?

Yes, I've always stayed onsite previously. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt Regency. My situation might be a bit unique, I get free breakfast at the table-service restaurants at Hyatts so that was a nice way to save money. However, I thought I would dislike having to take the shuttle but it was fine. It's really not that far a drive and it feels a bit like taking the buses at WDW. So I'd recommend it.

Having said that, I'll still usually choose to stay onsite if I can because I do like the bubble feeling. The Hyatt Regency can't match the charm of the cash rooms at the DLH, or the proximity-convenience of VGC. So as a big Disney-nerd, those will still be my go-tos (in fact, already have VGC booked for next June)
