Thanks to netimka's post we are hoping to book our very first stay at the DLH! :yay:

I do have some questions first though:

I suppose there is no way of getting around the single person supplement?

If we book for one person only will we still be able to add on extra people at check-in? Even if I make the booking for two people (and the cost is only slightly more than for one) it still gives the room as being a "Chambre single Standard ". There will be three of us so we will need two beds which I thought was standard.

Is there any way of not paying the assurances? The page does not let me remove it. Not a deal breaker but would like to cut costs if possible.

Thanks for any assistance or further info I should know about. :goodvibes

no unfortunately not - I had a look and for my random dates it was expensive to book for only one person compared to 2, when you added the single person supplement. Great deals to be had if you all need park tickets though.

It is - and its DLP who allocate the rooms, not Voyage Prive, so you can still contact the hotel before you arrive to let them know you need a standard room for 4.

Hope this helps a bit,

Thanks, that is just what I needed to know Elaine. :thanks:

Sooooo..... I've just booked us a 3-night stay in the DLH at the end of September!!! I'm so excited because it is the only on-site hotel we have never stayed in before and I can't wait to experience it. We've booked for one person as it is slightly cheaper and we only have to pay the one insurance. DS and I will have renewed our Dream passes by then and DH may not bother as he can use the hotel pass with our booking.

This trip is going to now replace our Halloween/Bonfire night trip which we will cancel. I've been put off by recent posts and this new trip is costing a lot less although of course it is a shorter trip too. I hope that as we will be at DLP at the beginning of October we may catch some soft openings for Halloween. We've booked a mid-week trip so am hoping crowd levels will be low with at least the possibility of nice weather.

One more question though: We added on a supplement for character breakfast but it will only be for the person on the booking presumably, not the add-ons. Do you think we will all be able to benefit? I must admit I was surprised as I thought characters always came out for breakfast at the DHL as part of the package. For €17 it seemed worth the gamble to give DS the extra experience if we can as he does so love the characters. :)

How exciting, it's great feeling when you've booked!
Dlh has characters outside the breakfast room, I guess the supplement would only be for one person. Is this at dlh or cafe Mickey? I think the cafe Mickey supplement for hotel guests is 14€ each for breakfast when staying onsite.

that would be cafe mickey breakfast, as you definitely don't pay anything extra, as a guest of the DLH, to have breakfast there. So it will be cafe mickey breakfast for one you've paid for.

How weird, the on-line form said that breakfast was included in the package but the €17 was a supplement for a character breakfast. There was no mention of this being anywhere else though. If we're staying at the DLH we will want make the most of it and eat there every day not go off into Cafe Mickey! Oh well, never mind.
