For an upcoming 10 year anniversary trip with just me and hubby I was looking into doing something cute like the rehitching thing at Garden Grill or something, but the other night he mentioned he had looked on WDW's website for info and all he could find was packages that start at $3500 for an 'intimate" vow renewal! Course, this includes a mod resort and your passes. (Still a hefty price I would say? For a moderate resort? 4 nights? 5 day pass?)
Since we'll have APs and have DVC we don't need any of this. Course, I'm happy just to "rehitch" at the Garden Grill! LOL

I'm curious if any of you have heard or done anything like vow renewals while at WDW? Hubby requested more info thru the mail, but we haven't gotten it yet.

Thanks!

Hi, Shan. Funny you should post this. My wife and I are looking to do the same thing. Our 10 year anniversary is May 20th, 2005. We are considering re-newing at WL/VWL. They have a specific place for this on the 2nd or 3rd floor over looking the courtyard. I have yet to find out the price... :scared:

I don't know anyone that has done vow renewals at WDW, but my BIL and SIL got married on the lawn at Poly, overlooking the lagoon... The MK castle could be seen off in the distance.. :bride:

The ceremony was small... 12 guests or so... Disney provided cake and champange immediately after the ceremony, while I served as the photographer..

The reception was at Fulton's Crab House at DTD..

Getting the entire wedding party there using the WDW bus system was a blast.. :crowded: The looks on people's faces were priceless...

All in all, it was a very nice affair and very fun...

MG, that sounds fab! Have you called them on this?

mbhoxsie, I bet that was an interesting bus ride! LOL

No, not yet. I suppose I shouldn't wait much longer. We learned of this 'area' during our WL tour. It is truly a beautiful setting.

This thread is funny because I was just thinking the same thing like two days ago. I wonder if they would even do it because without paying for a room and passes they might not think its worth there time. But then again,I wouldnt think they would want to make people unhappy by telling them no. If anyones knows or finds out please let the rest of us know

Hi all...

If you already have annual passes and rooms on site, you can book the Disney intimate add-on, which includes everything you saw on the web site for the intimate VR, but for about $2,100. Don't quote me on the price.

It is a hefty sum if all you want to do is the rehitching at the garden grill, which is something like, what, $15?

The add-on package is through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, it includes a choice of site -- the Wilderness Lodge, Poly, Seabreeze Point, or the Yacht Club Gazeebo -- cake, champagne, bouquet, officiant, photography --and someother things I'm sure I'm forgetting!

It is definetly a worthwhile and memorable venture if you decide to do it...I haven't yet, but hopefully soon! But yes it is pricy!

That does sound nice, but I'm cheap. If it was like $500 that would be cool, but for that amount I'd take a nice piece of jewelry instead. LOL ;) Guess I don't sound very romantic, do I? :p

Hubby looks into the Disney vow renewal packages, and I look into the Garden Grill rehitching! LOL What does that tell you? Good thing I pay the bills! :teeth:

Thanks for the info. I'll confirm when we hear back from hubby's' inquiry.

DH arranged a scavanger hunt and informal vow renewal at the MK thru Gifts of a Lifetime a few years ago. I believe it was like $300. They did a little hunt thru Fantasyland ending at the wishing well next to the Castle. One of the "pixies" performed a little personalized vow renewal ceramonyand sprinkled us with "pixie dust" It was very cute.

DH and I are looking into renewing our vows for our 5th anniversary in January 2005. When I looked into this a few years ago, I think the cost was about $2000 for just the ceremony part, with flowers, music, cake. We are DVC owners and have AP's so wouldn't need that. I really would like to do this at the Poly, but $2000 is just so much money! We could add on a three day cruise for that amount. I'm torn on what to do. It would just be me and DH. We're already going to be at WDW for the 1/2 marathon, and our anniversary falls during that time. DH has never stayed at the Poly, and really wants to, and the last time I stayed there was 15 years ago. I know the memories would be priceless, but $2000???? Really got to think about that one.:D

I would also like to do a VR for our 20th anniversary--2 yrs away. I agree the price for the WP is steep....but my heart would be to have it there where I could see the castle. I would also want Mickey & Minnie as attendents. And to make it complete, get the glass coach. They didn't offer weddings at Disney when DH and I got married; if they had, we would have been there in a minute.

Well, hubby Fred and I will be celebrating 20 years this July 28th,
I called and got info on a vow renewal package. It is pricey.

We were offered an intimate add on package as well, as has been mentioned. We are AP holders as well, and usually get our rooms thru priceline.com.

The intimate add-on requires that you stay a minimum of 4 nights at a disney resort. This does not include DTD hotels. Wish it did.
I may not remember everything you get in package, most has been mentioned here. Music, officiante, flowers for you and groom, cake and topper, champagne, album with pictures, certificate, Limo ride to and from reception, that's about it. And at the bargain price of $2,300.00!!

We were tempted, but have decided to do it for our 25th silver anniversary. So for this year, we went thru priceline and lo and behold got the same hotel we stayed at on our honeymoom!! Holiday Inn Maingate.

We have reserved the Garden room, and are inviting friends and family to join us friday July 30th to celebrate. We are disney pin collectors, so we are going to have a party/pin meet/celebration with food games prizes etc! It should be loads of fun.

Then we'll start saving for the 25th.

Best of luck,
and blessings,
Winnie

PS: By the way, to have Mickey and Minnie there is an additional $1,500, and to have glass coach is around $3,000 I believe. It is one expensive ride!
