Vow renewals

My husband and I will be celebrating our 15th annivesary next year and are thinking of renewing our vows @ WDW. Has anyone done this? if so please tell me all about it!!! Thanks!!

I am going to be useless here but we are going to do it in two years. We have been planning for a while now. Our wedding was not what we hoped it would be (it was just downright odd, thanks to a joke by a member of the wedding party who is no longer a friend). Our children are going to be a part of it. We are really looking forward to it.

WDW has some great information on their site and I have been browsing and planning and saving.

We did this for our 20th anniversary. Our entire family was there. We did not go through Disney. We had our "ceremony" at a very special place for the two of us. On Disney grounds and in a theme park but it didn't interfere with anything or anyone. We had my brother-in-law act as the "minister" and he had us recite the same vows we made 20 years earlier. My sister was again my matron of honor but our son was our best man.

It was January and it was COLD!!!! But it was well worth it. This year, it's 25 years. And where will we be? Disneyland for the first time.

We have a 25th anniversary in March 2007. We'll be checking things out, too, to renew our vows at WDW.

DH and I were married at Sea Breeze Point this past September...

I would be very careful planning anything outside of Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding (DFTW) department...they are very serious about protecting their interests when it comes to weddings on property. Disney can (and most likely will) ask you to leave the park if they catch you!

Hiwaygal is correct. Check out the Dis’ board that is devoted to weddings and honeymoons at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World (click here). Lots of folks have shared their experiences on that board.

Disney has an entire department that is devoted to nothing but weddings, vow renewals, and honeymoons. It’s their Fairy Tale Weddings department (click here). Those folks handled the vow renewal for my 20th wedding anniversary a year and a half ago (Wedding Pavilion ceremony and Disney-Studios Theme Park dinner reception). It turned out to be the most magical day of my life. I wrote about the planning of it on the Dis’ Trip Reports board (click here).

Schuh, if you choose to celebrate your wedding anniversary with a Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewal, I hope it turns out to be everything that you ever dreamed it would be. Disney is truly capable of pulling off the most magical events. They are an amazing group of people to work with.

I am also in the early stages of planning a vow renewal. Our 20th is next year and I am looking at having the Intimate Vow Renewal. We do not want to wear formal wear, but are leaning towards the tropical attire. We will have to do the ceremony in the summer, but are thinking that it will just be the two of us. As soon as we return from our trip in a couple of weeks, I will really begin to plan this trip. We are thinking the end of May (hubby's bd) first of June 2007.

Congratulations, Blythep, on your upcoming vow renewal. I have seen many lovely photos of couples in tropical wear for either their wedding or their vow renewal. I'm sure your photos will turn out gorgeous. Are you thinking of having your ceremony at the Poly's Sunset Pointe?
