I am a new member and just wondered if anyone had any experience of vow renewal at WDW?

We are currently planning ours at Shades of green in Nov. I really liked the packages that sensational ceremonies has. They do a few in DTD.

Hi Michelle!! That is so neat that you are doing a vowel renewal at Disney! I have actually done quite a few there. So beautiful. I have been around a lot of the vendors that work doing weddings there, any specific questions? I work for a company called Aboutfacedesignteam.com. We travel to Disney hotels(go on location) (to make it easier for you) and do hair and make-up for weddings! We are on the Disney list

We were married in Disney 2007 and I will definitely have a 10 year vow renewal. I can't wait to start planning.

We did a vow renewal in Dec. 2011.
We did an Escape Wedding package and added lots of enhancements. We also did a Magic Kingdom photo package.
All I can say, is ask lots of questions. Be your own best friend. Like all things Disney, you have to ask the right questions. LOL

We had a vow renewal in 2005 for our tenth. Things have apparently changed so much since then with DFW. We had a Wishes event with 8 guests for example (and we made it in just before they raised the mins from 7,500). I guess now you can't have a Wishes event for less than 20 guests even if you meet all the minimums. I did have to get creative to make those mins, but we had top notch food and liquor.
I've looked into doing an event for just the two of us for our upcoming 20th but I doubt it'll happen.
I agree with the others about asking lots of questions. Just remember patience, that's never my strong suit! LOL.

Hi, can I jump in and ask you questions please?

I am looking at the same renewal at the Poly. Its also just me, DH, DD10 & DD2.

I was a bit worried with it just being us, will we feel a bit lost. Can the castle be seen from the beach?

I like the idea of us on the beach, is it closed off or will we see random people in our pictures?!

Did you add any extras on? We are staying at the BC and the renewal would be a few days after arrival. Are you staying at the Poly? I was thinking of booking a night there on the renewal day.
What time did you choose? Are you doing anything special that day, any meals, parks? I was thinking of booking a portrait session at the Floridian?

Any advice, ideas you can give would be lovely.

Oh, and how far in advance did you book?

I am excited that it is just going to be the four of us. In fact, we aren't even telling our family about it until after the fact. That way the focus is truly on DH and I renewing the promises that we made to one another.

My coordinator did say we would see the castle from the beach. I don't think anyone is on the beach with you, but I have been told that the stretch of beach does run along a pathway and there is no roping the path off or anything.

We are staying at the Poly. The only extra I am adding on is that I am going to get the CD of pictures. Our ceremony is at 11am. We are having tea at the Grand Floridian at 2 to celebrate (we love going to tea), and I plan on ordering a special wedding cake to be delivered while we are there. That night we have dinner reservations at Be Our Guest.

For the Memories collection you can only book 6 months out.

It sounds like it will be a lovely day for you all. Your plans sound amazing.

I'm liking the idea of barefoot on the beach in a floaty white dress and the girls in matching outfits, just us.
Our wedding was quite large, mostly DH side and I hadn't met half of them before and have never met them again!! That was 12 years ago!!

I will have a look and see if my dates are available, if not this year then definitely the next trip we take.
