OK it will be our 15th Anniversary on March 7th 2007.
We had a real budget wedding/reception and no honneymoon. Now we are finally at a point where money is not an issue, and my children will almost be 9yo.
So, all of a sudden it has popped into my head to have a VR...for our 15th anniversary(we are talking 7months people!!!!!!)
Obviously we would have an intimate cermony, inviting our 2 children, and 3 parents, 2 closest friends and perhaps sibilings. I personally am leaning toward children and us-period.
So what else would you plan....
Dress???(wedding suit or dress?-Color?)I would have to loose weight!!!
DH-(tux?-suit?)
Hair/nails---(I am a great makeup artist myself)
Rings? (would you get new ones-we were college students first time around)
What else brides?? You all are used to this planning-I am not!!!

OR would you wait the 5 years...and put a lot more effort into it? Or even do both(we have DVC and go every year).

Thanks...for any help or advice you can give me...I am calling tomorrow to talk to DWPS, and seeing about availbility etc...
Wish me luck,
Terri

Congratulations!
Personally, I would go with your 15th (next year) as it's a great reason to celebrate your love, plus you never know what's around the corner.

I am planning to wear my original wedding dress, but you can get some beautiful dresses to suit most tastes so take a look around and see what catches your eye.

There will probably be just the 2 of us (no kids) altho' we are inviting our parents and Nigel's siblings but the time of year isn't good for them. It's 'our' day after all.

I would go with the 15 year too. Another 5 years might go by pretty fast, but why wait??? Do it now. 7 months isn't so bad. I planned all of mine in 6 months and would do it again.
I only got married in March and will have to do my VR in 5 years. I just cannot wait any longer than that! Plus I figured my Mum & Dad would be much older then and less likely to travel all of that way (9 hour flight), and I would really want them there again.

Go for it, and congratulations!

DH & I dreamed of renewing our vows at WDW for our 25th. Which is in 3 years. However, we had quite an eventful year this past year, and felt we wanted to do it now then wait another 3 years.

We had our ceremony in the small chapel of our church, First Baptist Daytona Beach on July 22nd. We had about 40-45 in attendance. It was wonderful! And I'm so glad we did it. We left the next morning for our Disneymoon. Had a wonderful relaxing week.

Do it when it feels right for you both.
Blessings,
Winnie

Since you asked, I would agree with the Life's too short.

Although a bigger ring at 15 years, and a VR at 20 might work as well.

FTW can work magic in a short time.

October 3,2008 will be 15yrs for us....I would love to do this ( maybe just DH and myself) Hmmmm...I'll have to start looking into this. Thanks :goodvibes

Go for it now, don't wait...you never know what might happen in the next 5 years.

Hi I just found this thread when looking for info about a VR, OP I am sorry your DH won't do a VR. I was really surprised tonight when I casually mentioned a VR and much to my surprise he started asking questions :cool1:
At first he said for our 20th but then he said no that is the year DD would graduate, so I may try for our 15th in 2008 the problem is we currently live in Japan and so that really adds to the cost. We move back to the states in 2009 so I may plan for 2010....but I really want 2008!

I just wanted to say congrats on 15 years of marriage  How wonderful!

Since you are DVC owners, maybe you could suprise your DH w/ a vow renewal last year. Just you, him, and the kids. Sounds very sweet. Good luck w/ whatever you decide. Congrats again!

If you want an intimate event (custom would mean more guests who have to travel), maybe you can check out Tokyo Disneyland! :thumbsup2 My BF wants to go there so bad!

Ok, totally not to put a damper on anything, but my parents had really wanted to do something special for their 20th anniversary, and my mom said, ' No, let's wait until our 25th because that seems more like a 'celebration' point.' Well, 1 year after their 20th anniversary we found out my dad had cancer and he never lived until their 25th. She has such a HUGE regret about not doing anything on their 20th. So, not to be a downer, but I am always a believer in not putting things off, if you can do it, do it!
