Vouchers were awesome!

I want to order some of the lunch vouchers to use at RFK at AK, Garden Grill, 50's Prime Time or Sci Fi. What is the latest time that would be considered lunch? Do you think 3:30pm or do you think you could extend to 4 or 4:30?

I have a question about the vouchers. From what I have been reading about them on this site, they seem to be an awesome deal! I want to get them. But then I read that a breakfast voucher is 17.00 or something for one adult?? Is that true, who spends 17.00 for one person for breakfast? I also thought I read that that the quick & simple, (is that what they are called?) lunch voucher is around 12.00 a person. But at Village Haus the burgers are only like 7.00. I think that I am not getting this whole thing right. Please shed some light for me. We are planning a trip for the first time to WDW next year. We always go to DL, & I know that with a family of five that WDW will cost 3X the amount that DL costs us. So I am trying to find ways to make it a bit cheaper. Thanks for your help.

The breakfast vouchers are for the buffet style meals.....the Q&C you don't really save that much on, don't get your hopes up too high, it's a good way to prepay a meal or two though. The lunch vouchers seem like a good deal at certain places. We just didn't have the best luck with waitress's/waiter's and using these! Seemed like everything we wanted to order wasn't included. One place you could only get pop not even bottled water and for desert they had $2.00 cookie!!!!!!

You get the best deal for Q&C vouchers at Pepper Market at Coronado Springs, and Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.

The Vacation Kingdom lunch vouchers work best at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom, as others have also posted. The vouchers cost $30.50; the surf and turf costs $39.99, so you've already paid for the voucher right there. Add in the appetizer ($8-$9), non-alcoholic drink ($2), and dessert ($6-$7) that you also get with the voucher and you've saved about $26, not including tax and tip which is also included in the voucher. My husband and I usually split a meal here as the portions are a good size.

With Q & C vouchers we often share meals. I also have 2 young DD. With the Q&C 1 meal can be shared by 2. In AK at the BBQ place the combo meal might come with say chicken, baked beans and corn on the cob, a good sized drink and dessert. One voucher covers 2 kids. The voucher is $11.25 but the meal might come to $13 -$15 or more depending on what you order. Yes there are places where it will be less but we know where we like to eat and know the approx $ of the meals we will probably order. So, the vouchers work for us.

I would probably not purchase the breakfast vouchers simply because I know how my family eats breakfast. We would be loosing money on that deal. So it really helps to be familiar with the places you like to eat or want to eat before you purchase vouchers. There is a web site (I can't remember which at the moment) that has the menu for just about every restaurant in WDW listed including prices. This would be a good way to figure out what to do about vouchers. I did that before the first time I purchased any. If anyone know the site for menus please list it. Thanks!

I'm trying to phrase this without it sounding wrong....
What is the surf and turf? I know what surf and turf is, but what do you get??
Thanks!!

RF has several surf and turfs. The one which is on the card on your table, is steak and shrimp (you can also pick form different shrimps). The one we order off the menu (it's not listed) is half stuffed lobster and steak. We upgrade (at no charge) to a bigger steak (primal). Last time we ordered that and traded out the stuffed lobster for cocoanut shrimp..and they gave us lots of it! This meal was more than we could finish with two of us..both hearty eaters.

We used a few Q & Cs and a lunch voucher. The Beaches & Cream and RFC servers both seemed inconvenienced by the vouchers. The RFC server told us we coundn't even get a lemonade as the berverage, just a coke product. Oh well, we still had fun and ate VERY well. We just added a kids meal and we all had more than enough to eat.
We did have a car and loved traveling to these places. We especially loved the Pepper Market. Everyone that worked there were very nice and friendly.

You must have hit off days for both places. They usually try to get me the best deal for my money, as they get 15% of whatever my bill is.

I always get lemonade at RFC..is this something new?

Our RFC server said she's worked for RFC for 15yrs and they were making changes to what they are allowing with the vouchers. I don't know if she was telling the truth or just having a bad day to take it out on us, but we didn't let any of her mood bring us down. We still had a great time and a great meal.
I was thinking the same thing about the tip. As I've read here, most of us usually tip more than what the voucher offers them, and I did leave a few more dollars, but not as much as I would have if she would have given us at least a smile.

We just returned from WDW, and we also enjoyed using the Q&C vouchers. I have a few random comments on them:

Be careful to add up the total cost of your meal. Sometimes it isn't worth using the voucher.

We got the best deal for the vouchers at Beaches and Cream -- no surprise here! The double burger and the ice cream sundaes were EASILY enough to split between two adults!

We didn't use vouchers at Rainforest Cafe (like I said, we had only Q&C vouchers, not the type they take at RC), and I thought that most of the food was priced within reason for Disney World. What I thought was outrageous was the drinks! I'm talking soft drinks here. The kids' soft drinks in a "souveneir cup" (small cheap-o plastic cups, the type they give you for free at Pizza Hut, etc.) were 2.49 each! Outrageous! Next time we'll be drinking water.

Someone please help me ......

Am I understanding right....you can buy the Q & C vouchers at Disney.....but the lunch vouchers can only be bought at connections????? Is that right?

AND if so.....where at Disney do you buyt the Q & C vouchers?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you can only buy the quick and Casual certificates with connections or on ebay. Just remember that on ebay you are really paying a lot more than they are worth.

tilliet

Thanks,

I did go on connections today and I did their 30 day trial membership and purchased some Q & C vouchers, but I couldn't get any of the $30 lunch vouchers, I don't know if they are out of them, or if you just have to call to order them.. Anyway, I am going to call them and order them, probably tomorrow

Thanks!!!

Does anyone know what is the latest time you can use VKL vouchers at rainforest cafe. Can I use them in the evening. This is probably a dump question but I really didn't want to eat a large lunch and be really tired for the rest of the day. Thanks in advance for the replies.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

RFC has the same menu for lunch/dinner, so you can use the VKL vouchers up until the last seating of the day. Since Animal Kingdom closes early anyway, I think the last seating for RFC is around 6 p.m. We made PSs for 5 p.m. last December, but ended up eating earlier in the afternoon because our schedule changed.

I just finished reading this entire thread. We hadn't planned on eating at RFC bc of the prices but it may be do-able using the vouchers.

Does this sound like it would be allowed?:

~ DH and 11 yo DS share one surf and turf using one voucher and 13 yo DS and I share another using a second voucher. Then we order a kid's meal for DS, 6. (2 yo DD usually always just picks off of everyone else's bc. she fills up on the bread and rolls.) Total cost would be just over $70. (I'd leave extra tip for the kid's meal)

Is there a place at the YC/BC or Boardwalk that we can use the
dinner/lunch vouchers? Last year we used them at RFC but now
I wanted to try a different place. Thank you. We are staying at swan, so I figures either resort would be close to walk to.

We had a 6 pm seating for RFC at AK March 2002 and were able to use the vouchers. I even called the rest. directly before our trip to confirm that we could. We saved a ton of money with them. At the time, I had paid 29.50 for them. We got chicken fingers for appetizers, which the kids had for their meals. I got the seafood combo, which included coconut shrimp, and 2 other fishy things. At that time, volcanos were allowed as well, and only used one voucher. I guess it's not as good of a deal anymore.
