Vouchers? I'm clueless.

I see a lot about vouchers? Would someone please explain this to me? I am guessing that it has to do with meals but other than that I don't know what they are, where you get them, or how they work!!!

I've purchased meal vouchers via a company named "Connections" that works through another company named "DealPass.com". At any rate, you can purchase meal vouchers for $19 (If I remember correctly) and use that to pay for your meal. Basically, you end up saving the cost of taxes and tip by using the vouchers.

There's probably other ways to purchase them (eBay another, I think), but that's the way that I've found them before.

There's a completely different kind of meal voucher that's available at the Animal Kingdom. When we went in January they were $11.99 for adults and $5.99 for children, if I remember correctly. You can use them at the counter service restaurants for lunch in AK, and the adult certificate entitles you to a meal + a beverage, as well as another beverage and a snack (ice cream bar or popcorn) that you can redeem later in the day. The vouchers are available at the restaurants. (Tusker House, Flame Tree, Pizzafari and maybe Restaurantosaurus)

So, for example if you went to Flame Tree for lunch you could order the rib plate (1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and 1/2 corn on the cob) for $8.49 and a bottled water for $2.50. So you would have spent 11.00 or so without the voucher, BUT you still get another botled water ($2.50) and popcorn ($2.50 or so) with the voucher. Just make sure you get your snack before the carts all shut down for the day!

As far as I know they're still doing this at AK.

There are three types of vouchers:

Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals(not Swan/Dolphin) and these are 17.75

quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.25

Kingdom luncheon: good for sitdown restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 27.75 or so.

We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.

We are connections members (yearly membership was $79.00)and have always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. Others told me that they will be increasing the yearly fee significantly and if they do, I may not rejoin. They also have great discounts on park passes at IOA, US and WDW along with Blockbuster, TOYRUS and other restaurants so we have gotten our $79! Hope this helps. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay..I don't recommend that. IMHO

You can now buy these vouchers without a membership fee via floridaorlandotickets.com but thery are more expensive. It is a reputable company that I used for PHP last year.
