Voucher resales

My friend just received her quick and casual disney vouchers this morning. They are stamped in the right hand corner with a serial number. I'll bet connections has the serial numbers registered with the buyer. If the serial number can be read on an EBAY picture in a auction, the connections group can find who is selling them. Just a thought.

Well I have seen it done this way... say your Ebay ID is your name. And on your Ebay profile has where you live.

Someone could go into People Search in Yahoo, and get everything. I have a fairly uncommon last name, which could be by Ebay ID. They know where I live due to Ebay profile.. see from the listing...

I've heard of more people getting info from People Search in Yahoo there anywhere else.

It could have been Connections, but it still seems odd that they 'single' out others.

Well, it was definately Connections who called me and told me to remove my auctions from e-bay or else! In any event they left a very formal message on my machiene with a phone number to return the call. The call was answered as Connections legal department and I was told to remove the auctions because they were in violation of my contract. I mentioned that there were many of them still on there and was confronted withthe legal action spiel if I did not remove them--I was not making a fortune here just selling a few leftovers--3 maybe? A few days later I called the number again and asked a bunch of questions--all were answered very effectively as compared to the Connections 800 number. I can't believe it is worth it to them to call everyone who has one or two vouchers on e-bay, but they really emphasized that Disney was angry and threatened to stop selling to Connections unless the "resale" rule was being monitored. I don't know why they don't seek out the real "profit" sellers, but I do know I got the phoone call in October and pulled my auctions.

If you just want to recoup your investment, why not do your fellow DIS'ers a favor and sell your vouchers on the DIS Auctions? I did and sold mine within a couple of hours. I didn't mess around with an "auction", instead I had had a fixed price auction which was what I paid for them. I was happy to get rid of 2 vouchers that were about to expire and my buyer was happy to save some money on her last minute trip.

Nah it's not odd, because if your username is similar to the email address you signed up for connections with, chances are it's you and they pull the number you signed up with and call you. Obviously not everyone on ebay uses their email address or something similar, as their user name, so connections cannot contact them unless they bid on their auction and do it that way.

As for yahoo search...if your number is unlisted (like mine), then it won't show up on any search online.

DMRick

I signed up on the trial memebership, and have bought and received vouchers, but nothing was in my envelope except the vouchers. I still have not gotten any membership information! Go figure. I have no intention of selling my vouchers, I will use all of mine at disney and probably will wish I had bought more! LOL

I also think the people who pay what they are paying on ebay for the vouchers are nuts!

I am really surprised that disney deals with connections, because from what I understand there has been some legal action against connections on several occasions!

Oh well, I am just glad I have my vouchers!

What are these vouchers and what are they for? How do you save money by purchasing vouchers in advance?
