Voucher for AP--will it get me in with free parking at theme park?

I have used an AP for free parking at the theme parks before, but this time I have a voucher and wondered if I need to make a trip to DD to get my actual AP before heading to one of the parks. We're staying offsite this trip so my AP is the only way I would be able to park free. Thanks for your help!

I would get the AP at Downtown Disney. If you did go directly to the theme park, they would probably send you on a circuitous U-turn* "outta there".

*For Magic Kingdom that's is a bear right just after the toll plaza whereupon instead of exiting completely you could get a 3 hour parking pass at a nearby resort, monorail to MK, get your AP, and then go back around just a little to the toll plaza and park free.

They more than likely would make you pay but you could try and take your receipt to guest relations when you got inside the park. I had them refund my parking once when I couldn't find my AP at the toll booth.

I second the idea of going to DTD to get your AP. Some CM's will wave you through with a voucher but to avoid all the hassle just get it ahead of time.

We used our AP voucher for parking at the MK parking lot with no trouble at all last Dec. It actually never even occurred to me that they would make us pay for parking. We then redeemed our vouchers at the ticket booth at the TTC. I guess it may depend on the CM at the parking lot though.

Where abouts at DTD can you cash in your voucher for your AP?

You should have absolutely no problem using your voucher for free parking.

Alternately, you can redeem your voucher at Guest Relations in Downtown Disney before going to the parks.

Worst case, you pay at the toll booth and then guest services will refund your parking.

Best case, the CM will waive you thru with just your voucher. It will just depend on the CM and the time you are there.

No worry case, quick stop at DTD guest services to activate your voucher.

In all cases parking will eventually be free
