We are going the last week of August, for 5 nights at Portofino Bay Resort. Husband and wife in 30's with a girl, 7 years old, and son, 11 years old. One day will be just a resort day. We are doing one power annual pass and the other three members of our family will have normal passes. Trying to figure out if park to park is our best option. It is an extra $120 total for all of us, to do park to park for 4 days. Just so you all know:

1. We can afford the extra $120 for the tickets.
2. Worried with hurricane season and that it would be better to do park to park, so we can do indoor rides on rainy days, in both parks.
3. Rollercoasters sometimes give me migraines, so I could go with my 7 year old daughter to other rides in both parks. Husband then can do rollercoaster type rides with son.
4, Also get to do the exclusive Harry Potter Ride with park to park passes. (Do not think this alone is worth doing park to park)

What ever everyone decides to vote on, I will do! Never been to universal and trust what other people, who have been there, would do.

Thanks everyone!

We just returned from 5 nights at Royal Pacific. We did 3 day park to park tix. Did one day at each and one day to do our favorites in both. We thought it was money well spent. We also did a pool only day going to all three deluxe pools and enjoyed it.

You should have added a poll!

I vote park to park.

Park to park

The kids may really want to ride the train.

I usually start at one and finish in the other, but I also get park hoppers at WDW.

Since you will probably want to ride Hogwart's Express, I vote for park to park. But honestly, I would anyway, one of the best things about Universal to us is how close the parks are to each other, so you can easily do favorites in both parks in the same day, and this is especially true when staying onsite. Often we will start in one park, then mid afternoon hop to the other.

Park to Park:thumbsup2

The parks are literally next door to each other.very convenient to hop.Not to mention if you are at all interested in the Hogwarts express you need one

park to park vote. We are also staying at the Portofino at the end of August. With the opening of the new D Alley, I assume it will be more crowded than normal. We like to hop between the parks. One day, we wear our bathing suits and quick dry clothes and do the water rides in IOA first thing in the morning, then go back to the hotel, change and go to US for lunch and afternoon, then we like to end the day in the old potter area in IOA. Our last day, we hit all the rides we like in both parks. We also build in a day to enjoy the pools. We like hopping to the Hard Rock, as we like the music in the pool and we also enjoy the slide at the Portofino.

Have a great vacation!

Based on what everyone is saying I will do park to park. It was nice hearing what everyone else would do. Makes me feel less guilty about spending a little extra money. I want to enjoy the parks and not regret anything. We went to Disney a few years ago and I regretted not staying an extra couple of days. We had the money for it but I felt guilty keeping my son out of school one extra day ( a Friday), we could have stayed until that Sunday. I do not want to have any regrets with this trip!

I would recommend the preferred level annual pass. You get food and merch discounts with that card that you don't get with the power pass. Your there 4 days so that could save you some money.

Also hotel discounts (since price increase on APs a few weeks ago this benefit is only listed for the preferred and premier passes not the power pass).

When I looked just a minute ago, Hotel discounts were listed under power passes as well. https://www.universalorlando.com/Theme-Park-Tickets/Annual-Passes/Non-FL-Annual-Passes.aspx

That being said, I agree looking at 1 AP could be worthwhile.
