Vons delivery and PPH

Can anyone share their recent experience with having groceries delivered to Paradise Pier Hotel? Did you have to sign for the delivery yourself or did the hotel hold your groceries? Any problems? Any suggestions?

We won't have a car on our trip, and I was thinking of ordering groceries from Vons. Someone mentioned somewhere that there may be some difficulty having groceries delivered to PPH, or something. I've tried searching the boards for info on this, but the search function isn't really working for me (every time I search for something it pulls up discussions from 1/11 or earlier).

PPH is not set up to hold groceries like GCH is. I'm not positive, but if you are having groceries delivered to PPH, you should probably plan on being there to meet them. They will give you a delivery window of time. In our experience staying at GCV, they have always been on time.

One of my brothers is going down in two weeks and he called and the holding answer is no, he was told he had to be there for the delivery since they do not have the facilities...not recent but indirect answer.

Thanks for the input. Now I need to decide whether to cut back on the groceries and bring some food down (I call this "Making Room For Souvenirs") or plan on hanging around the hotel after checking in.
