Hi, Just wondering if any of you have been picked for an attraction/show. Or maybe even brave enough to volunteer. We've been really lucky and have had a few "experiences"

1) DS got picked for the Stunt show 2 years in a row

2) DS sat on a chair in a restaurant in WDW MK, there was a hidden mickey on it. We didn't know this at the time but whoever sat on that chair got a prize! We were serenaded by CM's, had our photo taken and received a special fast pass for Fantasyland!!! It was a great day.

3) I got picked at Buffalo Bill's and rode in the carriage. SCARY !!

4) DS got picked to be navigator at Animal Kingdom on Safari. I think that's all changed now though, there was no navigator this year when we went.

DD is a bit miffed that she's not been picked for anything..... but DH is soooo relieved he hasn't.

Would love to hear your stories if you've been picked for anything.

DD Amber was picked to take part in the Studios Parade last summer. The parade had stopped while someone was chosen from the crowd to restart it using a clap board. Unfortunately it wasn't captured on video as we were on our way back to our hotel to change due to a major drink spillage and Amber stayed in the park with my brother. We were gutted when we found out as it's highly unlikely to ever happen again.

Hehe, I have had a few experiences too!

1. At DLP, my dad was picked to star in the Pocahontas show in the Chapparal Theatre, and got to wear an arrow through his head and "diggity dig". He got some free popcorn afterwards and I remember it being really unpopped.

2. At WDW, my dad was picked for the 102 Dalmations part of the Studio Tour at MGM. It was a blue screen thing and he got to pretend to ride a bike through the street whilst wearing a tweed hat.

3. At Universal Studios (I think), my sister and I were picked for something during the Xena attraction thingy... I can't remember what, though! I remember being totally serenaded.

4. At Universal Studios, my mum was apparentely in the "cursed seat" and got "volunteered" for the Gory, Gruesome and Grotesque Horror Make-Up Show, and they pretended to cut open her arm, which was supposed to make her scream, but she wasn't phased at all. They were very disappointed, LOL.

I am always secretly hoping that I get picked to take part in one of the attractions. :teeth:

DD was picked to be the navigator on the safari ride at AK, then she was picked to interact with the animatronic dinosaur in Jurassic park. She has also been picked to meet and touch a dolphin at the Theatre of the Sea in the Keys.
DSS was picked to do a hula hoop competition in Toon Lagoon, which he didn't win, even though he was the best hula hooper.....as everyone cheered loudest for the cute little kid who couldn't do it.
We all got picked for the Halloween Parade at the Halloween Party......along with hundreds of others...but it felt very special being given a "you have been chosen" card.!

Oh wow, do they actually give you a card? do you get to keep it? I love souvenirs like that, the ones you can't buy!!

DH and I (pre-DD days) got picked to be the person in the boat and the person who throws the water at the person in the boat when we went to Florida. I think this was at MGM but It could have been Universal. :confused3

Great thread Tia. :goodvibes

DD was the navigator at Rhino Rally at Busch Gardens, Florida.

My friends DS was in the stunt show at DLRP. She was so worried he would get hurt she kept her eyes shut and couldn't watch him! :rotfl: Luckily they film it and give you a video to keep so she watched him at home! :rotfl:

Oh dear, I was sure she said they had filmed it for her. Unless her DH filmed it, I will check with her.

On our very 1st Disney visit (DLP) eldest DS & DD were picked to take part in the Toy Story parade. DS was a truck & DDwore an outfit & walked holding a CM's hand. Our friends 2 children were in it too. They got a big bag of chocolates I think.

WDW DD & youngest DS were in the main parade, dancing with Fish & playing African Instuments.

in a shop in WDW at MGM DS got asked to answer the phone behind the counter & it was Goofy who Knew his name. He was amazed.

But what float would you go in if the call went up that they were short one performer?

Me, being a Beauty and the Beast Afficionado, I would have to be Belle [even though I doubt the frock would fit! :rotfl2: ]

I would quite like to do something in the Halloween parade although I'm one of those who finds someone to hide behind if they are trawling the audience for volunteers.

It would have to be Snow White. I could be either Dopey or Grumpy depending on my humour ;)

DS7 has been picked to join in at The Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom for three times in a row now! Every trip they seem to pick him out of the crowd :) DD got picked to take part in the Studios parade in Paris on our first visit there too :)

:wizard:

A long time before I met her, Erika got picked to introduce the British Invasion at the UK Pavillion in Epcot. Apparently they wanted someone British to do it and she'd got there ages in advance to see them. Once the show was over she was presented with a certificate signed by the whole group which she's still got today.

Shame they don't do that any more - it's just a pre-recorded voice now.

Many, many times by our friends at Cinéfolies. :rotfl2:

And Davy got picked out a few times for Lilo & Stitch.

When Liav was 10, we were in WDW and "OPENED" the Magic Kingdom. Each morning people line up at the turnstiles waiting for the official opening, and the CMs choose a child to do the honors. They brought us in, and the CM faced teh crowd and introduced Liav, and gave her a "magic wand" and asked her for a "magic word" and asked the crowd to count down from 10 with Liav, after which she "waved her wand" and they shouted the "magic word" and the park opened. (don't remember what the "magic word" she picked was".) Then they gave Liav a certificate with the name and date and some other little prizes, I don't remember what. We were with two other friends, and the four of us were given a ride down Main Street in the Fire Engine. Very exciting.
