We have spring break mid March here, the kids and I will have the full week off and I am thinking a volunteer vacation might be a good thing. The boys are 14 and turning 12 spring break week.
Has anyone done a VV before? Would you do it again? Where can I find opportunities that are family friendly?

Our church does Appalachia twice a year, usually during summer vacation. After Katrina, they changed the trip to New Orleans. I would check out your local churches and see if any of them are running trips. We have people that aren't from our parish going on our trips all the time. We won't turn anyone away that wants to come help.

Hi Colorado Mom!

I just came across your question about family volunteer travel and thought I'd shoot you a note. I work for i-to-i and our North American office is in Denver. We send families on volunteer vacations and would be happy to provide you with more information, if you are interested. Feel free to check out our family web page at i-to-i.com/projects/family. We'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. You're welcome to come by our Denver office or call or email us.

Happy Travels!
Amy
