Volkswagon Passat...who has one??

BUT I got up to about 45mph and then slammed the brakes and it made a HORRIBLE grinding metal to metal sound, and it shook all over (possibly out of alignment).

those are anti-lock brakes.

well if it was the AB system I am glad we did not buy it because it sounded HORRIBLE..I would not feel safe in it. I have test driven cars with AB systems and did the same test and I did not hear that sound at all!!
