Volcano @ RainForest Cafe?

Hi!

Never been to a Rainforest Cafe before--it's a place I definitely want to try (at AK). The prices are one big OUCH! so I got a 3:00 ps just to grab a dessert or something my fam can share. We're a fam of four (w/ 3 & 5 yr old). It's about $13 and with drinks this is going to be around $25 I guess with tax and tip.

Does anybody recommend the Volcano? Is it something y'all might think is too small to share? Any pics by chance?

Looking for anything critical--if it's no big deal I'll just cancel

It is definitely big enough to share.... DH and I could not get through it and we LOVE dessert!!!! It's also quite good. Just be prepared... the waiters yell V - O - L - C - A - N - O when they come out and everyone will turn and stare

Dh and I shared it in March and could not finish it...and I was pregnant at the time! No one yelled "volcano" when we ordered it...guess we got lucky!

We love the volcano and get it if we have more than 4 people. Here in chicago they put a real sparkler in the center instead of that silver streamer thing. They also always shout VOLCANO! My girls love that. Going there to just share the volcano is something worth doing because it is so good. There is a big scoop of whipped cream, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, 2 slices of chocolate cake and 2 slices of a denser brownie cake.

The prices may seem a little high, but they give you sooo much food. My mom and I always share and are full, especially if we get the volcano. We usually get the steak, coconut shrimp and shrimp scampi combo. I eat the coconut shrimp, she eats the scampi and we share the steak. It also comes with garlic mashed potatoes. We are always full, but then we aren't really big eaters.

The kids could probably share a pizza. It was way more than my 8 year old could eat.

Another thing to think about is to order one of the Connections Vacation Kingdom Lunch vouchers from Connections for about $30. That gives you an appetizer, an entree and a dessert (but not volcano). i have heard of people getting the steak and lobster combo for the entree - but I haven't done that personally (this entree not on menu). We thought about getting a voucher and then getting the chicken tenders appetizer for my girls to share, and then DH and I sharing an entree - whatever that may be. Then we could all share the dessert.

Just a thought.
