Volcano Bay ticket question

Background: Planning on a trip in July of this year and June of the next. Getting non Florida resident annual passes. It looks like Volcano Bay has blockout dates for all APs except the top tier one in the summer on the 3 park APs. Do most people who would like the experience the water park just buy a single day waterpark ticket to go along with the 2 park Annual Passes? Is there a cheaper, better way?

I am not aware of any cheaper way. In the past they have occasionally lifted the AP VB blockout for part of the summer, but with all the pent-up travel demand I do not expect that to happen this year. I have a 3 park AP and just plan my trips around it, my summer trip is going to start Aug 14 when the blockout ends.
