I understand tapping the wristband for a time to come ride the slide or raft ride. I'd like to manage expectations for a child who can sometimes have difficulties with lines and queues, although with these being outside should be better, unless they are blasting loud music, then may have to bring some earplugs,
.
So - what the usual wait time in line once you are notified it's you're time to go?

I see some rides on videos have ride now, where you don't tap in to get a time - how long do they let lines get, before they start requiring the taputapu?

We are staying where we get early entry, our plan is to get a time for the water Coaster, then see what else is available as ride now, but also need to manage how long a line we can wait in before we are called for our virtual queue times.

When are you going? When I have gone for early entry the coaster has always been ‘ride now’ and I have ridden it multiple times in a row with minimal lines. I tend to go more in the off season though. The 4 tube slides (taniwha tubes) are always ride now when I’ve been there. The wait is fairly short, but a lot of steps. The family raft rides on that side of the park have also been short but I’m usually solo and skip them most of the time. A few of the other rides may not be open for early entry.

When it’s busier and you get a return time for the coaster, it can still be a 20-30 minute or so wait I think. The trap door slides can have a wait but I don’t do them. I am not a fan if Ohno and Ohyah drop slides either so can’t help with those times.

I have frequently stayed at Cabana Bay which has its own entry with a short security line, perfect for early entry. Last time I stayed at Aventura and walked over to the regular line for all the other resorts it was a long wait to get through security. So my early entry time was not well used. So if going for early entry, get there extra early if you are going through the non-cabana bay entrance. You will have to wait at the tapstyle entry point but should get through the security line quicker.

We will be there on a Mon July 22. We have rented a cabana, and are staying at Hard Rock Hotel.

Thanks for the info!

Once you’ve gone through security, there will be two separate areas for ticket scan, one side for early entry people and the other for people without early perk.

I'm staying at Aventura in September and visiting VB. Could I go across to Cabana Bay and access VB from there or do you have to be a guest at that hotel?

Aventura has a dedicated entrance to VB, so you're all good.
Someone on these boards told me you can indeed walk over and use the Cabana Bay entrance. I thought they check for cabana bay room keys. The poster (can't remember who it was) said the sign says for resort guests but not specifically CB guests. I personally have not tried it, but it would definitely be worth a shot. I will be there in the end of September myself and plan to try it. The Aventura entrance takes you to the same place all the other resort buses drop off for the security line, and the wait was quite long. The CB one has no wait and you can get right through to line up at the tapstyles for early entry.

We almost always get a cabana. They will call you a day or two before and ask what your location preference is for the cabana, so have a look at the map to get an idea of where you would like to be located. They try to accommodate requests for the different areas, not exact cabana numbers. Also, answer the phone when you see that 407 area code. They do not leave a call back number.
It takes about 20 or 30 minutes to check-in and get escorted to your cabana. Do not waste your early entry time messing with that. Your cabana is already assigned and will be there waiting for you. That early entry is the BEST time to do Krakatau Water Coaster. You can Ride Now 2-3 times easily. Put your things on a lounger and go ride it or I usually just go do the cabana check-in while my husband does the coaster with the kids.
The cabana is a life-saver when you have a member of your family that needs time away from crowds. The music in the park is very mellow and not loud at all. There is volume control for the speaker in your cabana so you can turn it all the way down, if you want. We like it as soft background music. It gives great Polynesian vibes. If you are in the wave pool area, there is a drum sound that they play over the speakers (general speakers, not cabana speakers) to notify guests the waves are about to begin. We've never found it intrusive or annoying, but you can hear it clearly from the wave pool cabanas, fyi.

Thanks for the info. We just got back, we had a great time!. The cabana was nice, the attendants came by to check often if we needed anything. The towels, the fridge with free water, and fruit pastry basket was nice. We got food ordered and delivered to cabana didn't have to wait long at all. We did end up checking in and going to cabana first it was quick only took about 5 min to check in and go to cabana, we got there about 8:15 we checked into the water Coaster from the cabana - ended up doing twice during our day. We had a weather delay around 4 pm, great to have a place to hang out while we waited to see if things would get moving again.

While I would do the cabana thing again- we thing that I thought would be the most useful really wasnt- the ability to tap into rides for times right in the cabana- after we used it the first time, never did it again. It would have been more walking to go back to out cabana ( 23c upper) than to just go to the next one we wanted to go to. We'd ride, then tap in to next one with wait time, then plenty of ride now rides especially before lunch time, or just did wave pool. We did lazy river once- thought would spend more time there, but had a hard time getting a tube.
