Volcano Bay & Express Passes for Spring 2018?

I'm a little confused about the situation with Volcano Bay and Express passes this spring. I know that when VB first opened, people COULD use them, and then pretty quickly they did away with them for everyone except those customers who had already bought them.

Now I've been hearing chatter again about Express passes being back at VB and I'm reading online about various rides there that do or don't have EP. Can someone update me? Is this an add on? And if so, where would one purchase it (as I can't find it online).

We have reservations for RPR over Easter, so Express passes would be really helpful. Thanks!

I haven't heard any chatter about express at VB and I don't see any mention of it anywhere on the website. As far as I know, it doesn't exist.

Do you have a link to the chatter?

I can't remember which links I have seen people recently talking about getting them on, but here is this from Orlando Informer at https://orlandoinformer.com/universal/volcano-bay-tickets/

"Universal has been constantly tweaking the availability of Express Passes as it constantly tweaks the crowd control of Volcano Bay as a whole. As such, Express was available for the first week or so of the park’s operation, then was taken down for several months, and now, as of early October, has been reinstated in a limited fashion. Here’s the deal, at least for the time being: basic Express Passes (that is to say, they can be used on all participating rides just one time) are currently available for purchase at the park’s concierge huts only on a first-come, first-serve basis, at a price of $34.99 per ticket. Please note that (1) you can’t buy them online, and (2) quantities are extremely limited."

Has anyone tried this? Are they really available and do people think it's worth it? ($140 for a family of 4)

Staying at RPR will give you an hour early access. Be at the gate before opening and you will be able to ride everything you want as many times as your legs can carry you back up all the steps.

Hi I have also heard the chatter on other sites and forums I belong too that they maybe bringing back the EP for Volcano Bay. I have not heard anything definite yet. https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/theme-parks/volcano-bay/index.html . The phone number on this link is the best option to try and find out more about the EP. This is the number I used last year when they were selling them and to rent my cabana.

If you find out anything please report back. I am heading down in a few months and would love to purchase them.

Thanks:)

The on-site hotels express pass doesn't work with VB only the other two parks

Since we'll be there at Easter (one of the busiest "peak" times of the year!), we're planning on using early entry but we're curious about if the Express Pass is a possibility too.

Sounds like no one is really aware or using this?

Right, but at times they've sold separate VB Express Passes. I know that it won't be included with the hotel, but was looking into the possibility of it as an add on.

From what I've seen online (see above), they may be selling them in person, but I wanted to see if anyone had done this or had updated info :)

I have not heard of them selling them in person yet and I am on other forums that have Universal information. I myself was wondering if anybody had done it in person yet. I will continue to monitor the other forums and check in on the phone with the add-ons for VB.
