VMK VALUES ??? why do they not enforce them?

5.Create or open any type of 'Pay to Play' room. (This is a room where you pay the room owner to play a game and it's up to the room owner to award the prize. Charging for ANY type of activity is AGAINST VMK Values and will get you banned.)
6.Harass or bother players that don't want to talk to you.
7.Swear, use foul language or racist terms.
8.Discuss/describe violent acts against yourself or other players.
9.Discuss/describe adult themes or subject matter.
10.Ask for or give out ANY personal information to another player. (This includes your password, e-mail address, telephone number, location, or other means of contact or personal information.)
11.Type your password anywhere except in the Disney registration and log-in pages, or in the Contact Us section.
12.Give away, trade or sell your VMK Character.
13.Break the law in the game or talk others into breaking it

This is really starting to bother me. I have several stories of players that I personally have reported that nothing was done about, one who is breaking Rule #6 over and over and has been for several months.

I reported a player for asking another player to meet them outside on YAHOO even after several of us in the room told them to stop!

I received the if some one's chat is bothering you place them on ignore

Now the big one!

There is a player who has been harassing and stalking several of my friends(3) on VMK, breaking rule #6 over and over and over again. Whenever they are in their rooms she and a friend of hers, mostly her, will pop into their room and say rude things and pop right out this can go on for however long that my friends keep their rooms on the everyone setting or they give up and leave the room. It does not matter what they are doing, running a game, trade room, or just hanging out.

We all have reported in game and have received the gamut of responses but nothing has been done. I personally wrote to VMK through direct email about this player not once but twice and was assured that they were aware and were looking into the problem and would take appropriate action. Nothing has been done because as recently as last night she was up to her stalking. She is making game play miserable for my friends.

VMK in game has told my friends and myself to put her on ignore, close the room to everyone but friends and the real kicker! One friend received a warning for FALSE REPORTING being told if he continued to report her he would be banned!



I hope that VMK takes action on this girl soon because my friends have just about exhausted all in game and contact us reporting options and are about to take this to DIG to get action.

Why should anyone suffer their game play when someone else is clearly stalking them in the game!

WHEN VMK are you going to start enforcing your own guidelines?

I just checked and my personal email to VMK about this girl stalking my friends was on Aug 6, 2007.

I think I am going to agree with this or banning players for things that they should not be banned for.

Great going VMK and after last week when I thought things were taking a turn for the better.

Hi,

I have to agree that things are not the same. Last week I reported someone for bad language. They were dictionary dancing bad words and calling people them. I reported the person and in less then 30 seconds I got a threating message back telling me if I keep abusing the report button I could be ban.

It had been over a month since I reported anyone. So that is it. I told Ink I will not report anyone any more. Not worth
it. I am tired of trying to keep VMK a safe place to only be told to stop. So fine I will stop.

I even went so far as to personally call Yavn yesterday evening and found out that his phone number has been reassigned to someone else leaving me to believe the rumors that Yavn is no longer with VMK.

This quote has confirmed my suspicions that i have had for a while. I have had a gut feeling for a few months that Yavn may no longer be at the helm. Why do I think this you ask

Yavn was on Ink's friend list and was not on the game for 2 1/2 months. Ink checked regularly. Ink says that was not at all like him. He did not play a lot but had never been not on for 2 1/2 months.

Then all of a sudden after checking the night before ink found the next day that Yavn was gone from his list. Through further investigation we learned that Yavns friend's list had been purged off all friends.

Next thing is that when we parted ways with them we said we would update them on ink's condition and they said that was great. So in august I sent Yavn an e-mail telling him the results of Ink's 6 month check up. I never heard a word back which was very strange. I know it was read I did a read receipt.

When we saw Yavn and some of the team the only real VMK things we were told was that the new build this summer would blow us away. It would change VMK as we know it with much more to do. Hmm fall is this weekend. I know there could be problems but they were so excited about it.

Now look at all the strange things going on:

Newsletters going from weekly to monthly to almost nothing.

All host and VMK staff told to remove everyone off their friends list

All the crazy bans that seem out of control

No consistency in policys

So many name changes

No Host real games in months

Yavns Blog suddenly vanished

The whole feel of the game has changed. I log on and it is like I am afraid to say much of anything.

Now I have no real proof of anything and just going on what I see and feel. If he is gone why would they not say anything-probably fear of a panic among players since even though there is a whole team he is/was the face of VMK. Disney is very strict with what the public is allowed to know.

Yavn if you read this we hope you are well and things are ok and if you have moved on we wish you the best of luck in whatever you do.

Oh I totally agree with you on this Mal, how frustrating! After trying to dictionary dance what is going on and getting a message back that is obsurd I've just started writing and saying Please check this players behavior its in appropriate and against vmk values thanks. Everytime I've gotten thanks we'll check it out and take appropriate action. It beats the other non sense responses, but who knows if they actually check it or do anything.

I'm confused here: why does VMK even HAVE a report button if they won't look into reports? It seems to me that they're judging too much on how the reports are written. They think that if that issue isn't that bad enough to be reported if it only says "____ has been saying rude things to me and my friends for a long time." Because this report is so short, they immediately pass it off as a trivial matter and threaten to ban the reporter. Well, it's not our fault we can't describe situations better! THEY'RE the ones who gave the reporting system the same restrictions as the messaging system! They should look into every matter, no matter how trivial it may seem on the surface. If it's breaking YOUR OWN RULES, then don't threaten to ban us for reporting it!

yup add that to the list no new items since beginning of the month- was the shield table the last new item. Not even new pins. You would have thought they would do a dream series we could buy. Something is just not right- feels different seems different. Are they just buying time... With both VMK Centrals closing... I just don't know what to think...

Sadly enough I so agree with you Mal and Bug....I truly believe that VMK is on its last leg and they are bying time. Just take alook at whats going here

They don't enforce the rules...even when they put out messages and post on the new rules... they totally igore anything you write to them... I have given up on that over a month ago

There is no new quests...which use to be so much fun

They haven't releaase anything all month here...nothing not even pins...

They leave anything new that does coome out for ever!!

Yavn don't releae a new update anymore like he use to and when he does update..he says as little as he can!!

So yes..it really is so sad to see all this happening...When I first started I was so excited and couldn't how cool vmk was and how awesome that Disney put out a game such as this! So sadly enough we are just waitiing for them to pull the plug!! I so hope i am wrong but I don't thinkk so

I'll miss VMK. I don't think it will last. If it isn't in the planning already to phase it out, the way things are going will eventually kill it.

On the other hand, since it is Dream Month, it would not be fair if some people had hosts, etc. on their friends list, as they would know where the host was at the time, giving them an unfair advantage, or hound them for stuff. So it seems that there is an across the board policy that no Yavn/QA/Host/VMK_ people be on a friend list of any players.

I still dont understand how the game is still in business, with all the harrassment, baby stuff, taken ( unless your actually going out with that person in real life ) Its all pretty dumb.

I know this may not be right,and it's just a theory. Overall, I agree with Mal and Bug. I myself have been slacking on signing onto VMK, not feeling that usually eagerness feeling in my stomach on Fridays.
If you go to the Calender, the only week of October that they have on there is the very first. Usually they have the full month up, just with Fill-in Events. As for Yavn, I'm not sure. Something just doesn't feel right about him. I hope all is well.
Another thought that occured to me was this: VMK being baught away from Disney. Really if you think about it,
No new land/items revealed recently.

VMK Central Closing
Moderation Changes
Month Events
Dream's Month. After all, all dreams do have to eventually come to an end...
