VMK Thanksgiving Quest (event)

I'm kind of disappointed to see the answers posted here when VMK specifically asked for them not to be posted.

Posting hints is one thing, but some have posted the answers. Folks, it really only takes 5 minutes to run around and look at the photos for yourself.

I would like to ask the moderators to remove any posts containing more than helpful hints. I may be in the minority, (and please ignore this post if I am), but I think this really spoils the event for others to have the answers posted.

(if you cannot go on vmk for some reason on one of the days, please ask someone privately for help with the clues - there should be no reason to post publicly)

I am a lot disapointed.The leader lobby from VMK_Babs was supposed to include ALL leaders.I feel left out.

I have sent a "polite" message to her.Babs is my favorite staff but she seems to forget the DIS leaders...

I don't visit this site often but like to catch up on things. I must add that I, too, am disappointed by the answers being posted. Clues and hints are awesome but not the answers. This board is known for it's friendliness and willingness to help each other but I was surprised to see the answers posted when VMK specifically requested that they not be. Now I know that none of the fan sites are under VMKs thumb and can do what they wish but it kind of ruins the spirit of the event.

Just my two cents. (anyone have change?)

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the hints and clarifications about the game event! I was completely and totally confused about what we were supposed to be doing once we found the guest rooms hinted at by the NPC's...now I know! I doubt I'll peek at the thread again unless I get stuck, but I have to say all the explicit hints and what some would term 'spoilers' were the only way I could get it through my thick head what we were supposed to be doing this weekend!

I don't really want to engage in a debate about this, but I feel I need to respond to this. VMK's latest ruling on the dictionary debate was the result of a lot of back and forth on the subject, and I believe is fair to everyone. Dictionary dancing to give personal information is not allowed - period. I will respect this ruling as I believe it is reasonable.

VMK has requested that the answers to the quest not be POSTED. They haven't asked that they not be exchanged privately. I'm not even against helpful hints (ie. check the full name of the item in the photo), but I don't think that the answers should be given.

The other main VMK fan site has decided to delete all postings with hints or answers. Frankly for Dis to allow them makes Dis look bad. This is only my opinion, and it seems that some agree with me, and others don't. I just think we should consider our (the Dis) relationship with VMK. Posting the answers looks bad, and I think that if it continues, VMK will consider removing the word "Dis" from the dictionary. Keep this in mind people.

This thread was made to give the news and maybe a few hints. Not give the answers. That is why we are getting mad. I think I proved my point enough but, if you think we should leave, you are wrong. Dis is welcome to anyone. So is the VMK side of dis. Anyone even not VMK players are aloud to post on here. Unless you want to be ban from VMK from stealing answers, I suggest you stop.

I don't know if community leaders are actually doing anything this event. I have a teleporter in the leader lobby and I have no idea what I am doing. HOST_Hula just gave me a teleporter to put in my room and keep it blocked off. Other than this I have no idea what we will be doing.

As for posting the answers I agree with Blizzard I posted a hint I didn't just give all of the answers away. This event really isn't that challenging and it took me less than five minutes to complete this mornings task. So I think that people should give somebody a little tip if they are really stuck. But from now on can we please think for ourselves.

I, too agree with Blizzard. I was a bit shocked to see the answers just put out there...Not very cool. Regardless of whether or not VMK asked that answers not be posted, they should not have ended up in this thread at all. They should have made a new thread titled "spoilers", so that no one would have to see the answers. Takes any challenge away from this quest. Any I LOVE quests!
So, if the poster of the answers wants to know who reported their post, look no further. It was me.

Depends on how you look at it. If you want to break it down to the most literal translation of the words then no they do not carry the same meaning.

But if you really want me to break down my rational then I will.

Are the colors black and white the same thing, no. Do each of them represent a color, yes. So couldn't you say that even though they are two different things they are the same (colors.)

Now apply it to this situation. VMK said don't post answers. Aren't posting hints the same thing. Before you answer that question, think. Let's say you're in the middle of a test, let's say the Bar Exam. Do you think they would allow you to turn to the person next to you and say "Listen, don't give me the answer but can you just narrow it do for me between two choices."

Did they give you the exact answer, no. Are they still cheating, yes. So whether you're posting answers or hints you're still cheating. Don't allow a technicality to make it seem better because the verbage was "Post answers" and not "Post answer, or hints, or pictures, or....."

Either way it's all wrong.

Therefore while the definition of a hint and the answer are different, one can conclude that both are wrong and henceforth similar.

But um thanks defining that for me, it really cleared my head.
