VMK T-shirts

Here is a picture of us wearing the T-shirts that DarthJordan designed for us (except for me) to wear on our VMK tour (for which we got chewed out for - Lol!). LittleBelle and her DH LuketheBeast met us at City Hall for a group picture with the shirts she designed and made for the two of them.

Like a dummy, I am holding my pink wristlet in front of poor PhantomofB's shirt thus blocking it! DUH! What was I thinking? Grrrrr.....

I thought VMK values were only for in THE VMK...

So, if it is out here in real life too... I guess CL is not an option, I tell all my real life friends who I am on VMK.

Yes, the reason our tour guide chewed us out (right in front of the whole group, I might add) was because we were making our VMK screen names public which according to him was clearly against VMK policy. We honestly had no idea....

I heard that tour guide was a pain in the neck.(he stopped the tour to use the restroom,he was the only person that had too,so the group missed BTM)

But anyhow,I will make myself a vmk shirt that Says CL_CaptainBrain in the biggest font I can find.Lets hope I see thst tour guide.

We should all have shirts, that say "Yes, I am [insert your VMK name here], Deal with it Tour Guide!!"

This is the real world, we should be in charge, at least the very least, of what we wear...

Brain--been on the tour twice. Mandy the tour guide did BTM, but Steve did the pit stop.

Decoy--I guess I can't be either. I've met a bunch of VMKers.

I would have said to him, icily:

"I am an adult. If I choose to reveal my VMK identity in real life, nobody
on the VMK staff will really care. As long as I don't do this in the game,
it should not matter."

We all swapped ID's that day and said we'd keep an eye out for each other. VMK didn't seem to mind then. Now I think they are just getting silly. I mean, they let you put your name on the back of a set of ears....isn't THAT a liability too?

Yes!!

I find it a bit more scary that a stranger would know my daughter's REAL name, not her VMK name!!

wow sorry we could not have done the tour that day to back you up. What would he have said if even more people were wearing them?Since we had already worn it we did not have it on the day we did the tour. Gee I do not get it. If we choose to wear our VMK name in public that is our choice. Like some one is going to follow me in Magic Kindgom and learn all about me. But how would they find out who I am. My real identity. Sure they know my VMK name but with the dictionary restrictions that is as far as it could go. They are extremely over protective. I asked our tour guide about getting a warning for spelling register wrong and how that affects kids who have difficulty spelling. That they are afraid of being banned. He said it is good for them to have the fear. That they will not be banned for that but it is important to protect them. UH he actually was very unreasonably in the conversation adament that they needed to do this to proctect the kids. I asked him if they had the technology to decide if it was a spelling mistake or trying to get around the dictionary. Well he never answered that but was adament that all warnings where important. I think they are so concerned about proctecting the kids from the adults that they forgot that kids make mistakes and banning them for life is not the best way to teach the to learn from their mistakes.

Losing the tour in WDW will not be so bad if it gets Steve completely unassociated with VMK there. I just wonder if he handles "problems" in his Guest Relations job the same way he does in his VMK tour guide job. I have heard nothing good about this cast member in his VMK job.

I did not mind it at all when he told me directly that I could not take the tour because it was less than 90 days since the last one I did, even if he did seem to have forgotten the details of our previous encounter. However the first time he accused the family in front of me in line for the tour of doing this when I was not even with them. He never talked to me directly at all and finally went off stage "sick" and let someone else handle the tour. Today he got down on me when FlyingPegasus asked him why the 12:30 tour that she had been promised was cancelled without any notice, just because he saw us walk in to VMK Central together. Even though I walked into VMK Central with her I was on a computer trying to create a character when he started talking about me.

Even though I have asked about putting my VMK characters name on the badge, a hat, or a shirt before and knew VMK's position on this - it was always handled calmly and professionally by the other tour guides.
