VMK Staff Coming Down on "Guessing Rooms"

Recently, I witnessed a VMK Staff member (trying not to name names)coming into the room I was in. It was a "guessing game" room, with rules somewhere along the lines of "Guess my favorite thing and win rare".
So anyway, the Staff member comes in, walks up to the owner, and says,
"You need to change the title of the room and here is why. [In] this type of room there is no way for anyone to know if they really answered correctly[,] because with a guess room you can change your answer anytime. So please change the title of this room."
That was the bulk of it. I personally never knew that was a rule (though I would never make a guessing room), but it makes sense. Anyway, I just thought I'd let everyone know. Now, back to the regularly scheduled programming. :happytv: ;)

*The chat the staff member said was in separate bubbles and I may have missed a bubble or two, so words surrounded in [ or ] are words that I added to make everything flow.

well guessing an answer only know n to the owner for rare, let me see how can I put this...Ah that would be considered scamming even if the game was on the level there would be no way to prove it. Also owners definition of rare could be subjectve.

I'm seen people claim "rare" when the item was still for sale in the shops.

I suppose you could make a guess room where you put an item behind a bunch of dividers and make them guess that

I've never seen any of those rooms lately. Usually if it's for "rare" the item is like a chair or like cat_herder said something that's in the shops.

But the owner could very easily change the item before removing the dividers. Good rule - glad vmk is doing something about it.

I'm glad to see they are doing something about these types of rooms. I've seen people say guess my favorite color, guess my favorite movie...they could just let the guessing go on and on. It's suspicious to me and for the younger players I could see them paying to guess again and losing out.

ME TOO CAT! :rotfl2:

In fact I had a player offer me "Rare" for my bird hat the other day and everything he offered was for sale in shops and most under 500 credits!

once i was walking around in a golden mickey hat and a section in my signature said that i liked nightmare before christmas.

i was walking down Main Street, and a boy walks up to me and says, "are your ears for trade?" i said no, but he offered to give me a jack skellington pin. i was already wearing 1, and i told him this. he told me "then you can have too instead of on". i left the room quickly because i knew that that pin is worth 25 credits in shops. :rotfl2:

true but again, how do they know the item is actually there? if u show them then the others will see it too

this is no different than those pay to play falling chairs games, how do you know that the person is not dropping the chair on his friends?

HeHe I was in the same room you were in. I was the girl doing bat magic and had the stitch hat on. Yea staff was rkght she could change the answer at any time.

How can they change the item? If the divider is blocking it properly, the owner wouldn't be able to click on the item (and move it) without moving the divider.
