Hi there,

My title is Fly and I am a refugee from the VMK section of the Dis boards.

My twisted sister's title is qruthie.

To make a long story short we are very fed up with Disney at the moment, because they are closing down our wonderful game on May 21, 2008.

As our own form of protest - and the fact that we need to be together on this horrible day - we have booked our very first trip to the Hard Rock Hotel.

We will be there from the 21st - 26th.

Any advice on what to see, where to eat, who makes the best mai thai's etc...

Thanks for all your help.

Fly

I am just being nosey here, what are they shutting down on you?

They have stated that VMK Is "only a promotion" and that it has run its course (after being open 3 days short of 3 years) for the Disneyland 50th celebration.

They've already reassigned any employees, promised the servers to other games, and the "end" is May 21, 2008.

Hi Fly!!! and qruthie.....I dont have any advice for you but I hope you have a great time!!! Let me know how you like it.....my family is going there this summer and I cant wait!

Hi! It's me, "ppiglett".

Have fun at Universal...the best thing is that your room keys are the equivelent of all the time Fast Passes (they call it Front of the Line (FOTL)on this board).

In IOA, eat at Mythos. The day you go to that park either stop by the restaurant or guest services and put your name in.

I also recommend Tchoup Chop (at the Royal Palm Resort).

At the parks, see everything! There is enough time to just go around the parks.

Have you read the FAQ's yet??

Since you are staying onsite, you'll have NO problem seeing it all and doing it all....

You can't really go wrong with eating at UO.... (especially at City Walk)

I will tell ya, that most (not ALL), avoid:

Mels, International Food & Film Festival, Monster's Cafe and Circus McGurkus Cafe

Most (not all) do not miss: Mythos, Finnegan's, Emerils, Margaritaville

I'm sorry to hear you are losing your game :sad2:

I suggest that you don't miss: MIB, Spiderman (since you seem to like games), and if you're into coasters Mummy, Hulk, Dueling Dragons. HRH is literally 5 minute walk to USO and maybe a 7 minute walk to IOA so you will have plenty of time to see everything twice! If you like shows, I recommend not to miss the Beetlejuice Revue, Shrek, Terminator show. and WELCOME to the DARKSIDE!! :lmao: :lmao:
