VMK recycled months

Some themes I think would be cool:

  • Prince and Princesses
[*]Haunted Mansion (when it reopens in WDW)
  • Something EPCOTish or Spaceship Earthish for the upcoming anniversary

I would like to see something like a "wheel of fortune" where each VMKer get only one shot to spin the wheel and they win one full Disney character costume. This means ears, hat, suit, shoes, gloves, pants, dress, shirt, whatever they need to complete the character. Not even gender specific. That would make for some fun trading.

I think a Haunted Mansion theme would be neat! They could bring back the Haunted Conservatory. Or is that wishful thinking? lol.

I think a Winnie the Pooh themed month would be exciting also. They could release a hundred acre wood guest room and a lot of neat Winnie the Pooh furnishings and clothing! I think it would be cute if they had maybe a little Tigger costume lol. Actually - come to think of it - it would be cute to have a bunch of Disney character costumes! You know, Mickey, Minnie, the whole crew! Oh now see, I'm getting myself all excited for something that probably won't be happening lol...:upsidedow

I really enjoy the themed months on VMK, and I really do not mind if they are repeated, just so long as there are some original months every now and then.

I like that in the repeated months, there are some second chances to get an item that you may have missed out before. Also, there are always new things in the repeated month to look forward to. I am not a huge pirates fan, but I must admit that the girls pirate costume is awesome.

Some months that I think might happen or hope for:

Mansion month (I would totally love that, as Mansion is my game!)

High School Musical (I think this is a possibility for August or September, with school starting, the new movie, and the high popularity of the movie)

Pirate and Princesses month (to tie in with the special event at WDW)

Epcot month (because Epcot rocks, and who doesn't want Epcot stuff?)

I'd really like to see a Fantastic Four kinda theme, with the suits and all. I think that would be awesome! (Is the F4 Disney? hope so!)

I really like that Wheel of Fortune idea blood! it would have to be a pretty big wheel, to have a large variety. I think there should be 1 or 2 rare items on the wheel, you know, like hard to spin on items. ;)

I think we're shooting for the HSM2 theme. I think that would be a blast. I'm pretty darn sure that they'll release pretty nice costumes during that month, bc i can see now that HSM is going to have a lot more..er...how do i say it..plots? idk how to put it, but i hope you catch my drift. it will probably have more costumes, a better plot to go by, and more excitment.

I would also like mansion month, but we already have a bunch of great HM stuff, and if they come out with another color of the HM suit i'll scream! LOL.

I'd like another epcot month, since i missed out on the epcot room quest, and who could forget the churro! That is TOTALLY my favorate set of pins! :D

First of all, some of your comments are uncalled for. I didn't say it is VMKing. But I have a right to speak my opinions on the game as much as you do.

If you're fine with what VMK is doing, that's great. Some of us aren't though, and just because you disagree doesn't mean that we should remain silent about it. You're more than welcome not to participate in the threads that complain if they bother you. My use of the word personally is because I recognize that this is my opinion. Just like your posts are your opinion. But I didn't come on here attacking you...and I'd appreciate it if you would give me the same respect.

PM Sent. We Will Finish There I Guess.

Anyways.. Great ideas everyone. Remember to send them in to VMK and maybe they will gather some creations from your ideas and we'll see them sometime throughout VMKs running.

Actually I think there's more of a problem with Disney promoting things from Song of the South (i.e. the entire Splash Mountain ride) and yet they refuse to re-release that movie. At least kids can still see Sleeping Beauty.

I wanted to address this, but first, on topic-y goodness:

I would like another tiki month, as I know there are still pins to be released.
Oh, and I would like the tiki furniture in stores again, since I would like to
run my game again for old time's sake. :)

Ok, back to your comment above. I think the problem with Disney releasing
"Song of the South" again is that we're now defined by our times. It's just
not politically correct enough, even though I have seen it from foreign
laserdisc, and I didn't find it offensive as it could have been.

Think about this example:

Let's say I told you there was a movie in which an adult man wrote a note
to the little girl who lived across the street saying to come to a party at his
house. She goes there, to find him there alone, with his ventriloquist
dummies to entertain her. He offers her cake, candy and ice cream.

If I said this happened in 2007, you'd expect to see a sting operation on
"Dateline NBC". But if I told you it happened in 1947, as an introduction
to one of the animation sequences in "Fun and Fancy Free", you'd see it
as innocent as Walt intended it to be. The ventriloquist was Edgar Bergen,
and the little girl was Luana Patten...one of the kids in "Song of the South",
by the way.

I think we're so conditioned to think differently in today's society, that
the innocent things can be taken as sinister, or vice-versa. And that's
why I think "Song of the South" suffers from being a product of its times.

Sorry I went OT. But I really had an opinion I wanted to share. :)

My view on this is not much of anything at all. I love the new beach items mainly because I just adore summer. I also loved the pirate items - especially the girl's costume :goodvibes - Quite frankly, I couldn't care less what the month's "theme" was because I don't participate in the HOST activities often and I don't do something in VMK simply because the month was titled. I'm not going to make a water park room just because it's water park month. I'll make a water park room whenever I darn well please lol. The only thing that amounts to me, really, are the items that are released. It would bug me if they released the same items over and over again but since that is hardly the case here, it doesn't seem a problem. Similar furnishings might be released but of different color.

It makes sense to have a pirate themed month during the month Disney is releasing the movie. We can't forget here that VMK is a promotional game for the Disney company. What better way to promote Pirates of the Caribbean than making it publically apparent within the game? Last May Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was released. Last May was pirate's month. The same goes for thie year with Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

I, personally, love hearing about the water parks during the summer. It really gets me excited for having fun in the sun!

Like I said before, I would complain if they gave us the same items, but since they aren't, I'm not going to get huffy about it. :upsidedow

My thoughts exactly (well almost, I do do some host games). I think a summer theme is ideal in June or July and promotes the water parks which I've never been inclined to visit in my January trips. :rolleyes1 Pirates, well only those who hate the vmk game may have a problem with that, especially on double credit days. I heard many groans when it was over. Christmas, Halloween, always going to be there and while not much new for costumes, the first Halloween didn't have nearly the number of players and all of us newer players NEEDED the basic costumes! Look how difficult it is to get Princess Minnie hat or, before it a was a treasure, Sorcerer, through trade. Not many out there.

That does however leave many months to do new. Another food month, imo, would really be boring, I believe all it had was pins. Easter, even if commercialized as much as Christmas (meaning ignoring the religious part of it), could be a ton of fun with decorations and easter egg hunt quests and stuff. I've heard Winnie the Pooh month mentioned before, which would be great to go with the room we have already.

Mostly though I don't care. I play pirates bc it's fun and better than cleaning  and I come on to see friends.
Cheers everyone...it's summer!!:cool1:

Oh I totally know where you're coming from and I understand 100%. I know why Disney has chosen not to rerelease it (as of now). It just seems silly that all this stuff supports the movie and we have kids growing up having no clue where it's all from. I think what is even more amusing to me is when we have other Disney titles that that have completely un-PC (and downright stereotypical) songs, portrayals, that they are seemingly fine with (i.e. "What Makes the Red Man Red" from Peter Pan...and really their entire portrayal of Native Americans). I wonder why some things are acceptable to them but others are not when really they are doing the same thing? Anyway, just thoughts wandering around. :)

Fantastic Four is part of Marvel Comics and the movies were released by 20th Century Fox...Disney has no part of these companies.

While we did have costume releases for "The Incredibles," we never did have an Incredibles theme...so if a superhero theme is what you are looking for, perhaps that would be good.

:3dglasses :grouphug: I would like to see a roller coaster month that would be cool and vmk should open some coasters like space and thunder where your characters can ride them in trains two across and it would look better than the rides we can buy
:Do

Friends can't be replaced so don't break them! or their bones!

The theme of a month really does not affect me, I'll enjoy it if it is another space month pirate month etc. There are some themes that I think are a really good idea though.

•Aladdin Month- I don't believe there are many Aladdin items in vmk
• Fairytale Month
• HM Month
• Princess/Prince Month
• Peter Pan Month- Tinkerbell Outfit would be great!
• Winnie the Pooh Month- that or a month for the older disney characters Pooh, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto etc.
• Cinderella Month- A Pumpkin Carriage anyone?
Pretty much a month for the disney movies...

Now if none of these months come true it won't bother me, I just think that many people had some great, creative ideas.

oh well that stinks!:guilty:

anyway, i don't remember having the incredibles' costumes, just vmk superhero costumes. (we still need turquoise color!) so then we need the red suit with the giant "i" LOL.

Yes superhero costumes...sorry I tend to call them Incredibles costumes because of the similarity in look. :)

Oh Oh I got One!!!!

..

HULA MONTH!!!

ya know..with the hula and the dancin' and add some stitch and lilo in there

and your all set!!!!

Can also be called surfer month but then it would be like this month..

so i'll stick with hula month...

^I'd enjoy that idea... although they may need to re-title it so people don't think of Hula the Host instead of hula the dance. I wouldn't mind a month celebrating Hula the Host though... she truly has the Disney magic. :wizard: The Hosts have a lot to deal with, and I can't even imagine having that job. Bless all their hearts. Shame they don't have more staff to help them. That'd help them I assume, not to mention the game itself. But I digress. Anything Lilo & Stitch related would be so much fun. Be nice to have some Stitch items that are not unaffordable both real cash-wise and trade-wise to the vast majority of players.

But at the end of the day, I'm still waiting for my Donald Duck month. :donald: :donald: :donald:

:rolleyes1

Maybe we should have a Hula month. With Lilo outfits and they should sell stitch hats for maybe...10k credits?

Maybe we should have a Hula month. With Lilo outfits and they should sell stitch hats for maybe...5000 credits?

I'd like the hula month, but we could call it a Louau Month (sp?). we could have hula skirts, lilo outfits (many of us have been wanting for a while), laus (idk how to spell LOL, i think that's right, the flower necklaces), and i doubt they'll sell the stitch hat, especially if you can still get it by booking a trip to DLR, but if they do, it would have to bey WAY more then 5k.

i saw a guy and he had green flips , i asked what he traded them for, and he said " inferno and sparrow hat" i was like OMG!
