The original Pirate Insider Tour Pin and the new VMK Pirate Medallion:

So I'm sure you all know that they are re-releasing all the old pirate stuff as new "Pin Series" cards that you get when you buy real pins in the parks. But did you look close enough to see that they are not releasing the Insider Tour Pin? It looks exactly the same... almost

So does this mean that the Insider Tour Pin is going to be the most rare of all the pirate stuff?

The original Pirate Insider Tour Pin and the new VMK Pirate Medallion:

Check it out. The VMK Insider Tour Pin to the left says: "Insider Tour" at the bottom. And the VMK Pirate Medallion from the pin series 1 says: "VMK.Com" at the bottom. That is the only other difference other than the names

I am going to bet that they change all the pins to the new wording. It would mean they are different but so slightly different that there would leave a lot of room for cheating.

Just what we need, another way for the dark side to scam people.

I guess someone could get scammed. But, anyone with a Pirate's Insider Tour pin either traded for it or they've been playing at least a year. An experienced player will probably watch the trading window to see the description when it is added. It could happen though!

I'm surprised they would put out a pin that is so similar to another one but I don't think they will change the old one. I think that would upset some people who keep their virtual pin as a souvenir from doing the actual tour. But, with the VMK staff, you just never know.

since it is called a 'Pirates Medallion,' they really should have made it look like the Aztec Gold one that is in the actual pirates movie, so then u wouldn't get so confused lol. and for the girls, make an outfit that looks like Elizabeth Sann's dress and the medallion a necklace lol.

I finally got my order of pins and I got the VMK Pirate Medallion. When I put it in VMK I was rewarded with a "Pirate Insider Tour Pin" and it's identical in every way to my old pin.
