VMK no longer Mac-compatible?

I went to the VMK web site this morning and got a popup window with this message:

Sorry!

This browser is not supported by the VMK website.

To view all the features of the Virtual Magic Kingdom website you'll need Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or higher, running on a Windows PC.​

This was from my Mac running the Safari web browser. I was still able to click "Enter Game" and log on and play, but I'm hoping this isn't a sign of making things PC-only in the future!

I've always gotten that "Only for IE and PC" message, but continue to play with a Mac running safari, including today.

Yeah, I actually get that or another pop-up and they alternate. I wouldn't worry about it. On my two Macs I play on Camino, too. No problems to report!

Don't worry everyone, I use Netscape on a PC and get the same problem you can still do everything, the only difference is the little movie that plays up top on the main page is not watchable without IE.

As a 21-year Mac user (yep, bought one of the first 128K Macs back in 1984), I just about had a fit when I read the first post in the thread. If VMK was going PC-only, it would be rather ironic. Today, the Mac platform is growing significantly, and Disney would appear to be dumping it. But when the Mac platform was really struggling in the early to mid-1990s, Disney was a very Mac-oriented place, especially in their animation studios.

So that explains what that pop-up is! On my Mac (running Safari or IE) I get a pop-up, but it's blank every time. I continue to play without much difficulty. Sometimes, it crashes on me; othertimes, I am unable to type but can do everything else. I hate that one, because then everyone else thinks I'm being rude, but I'm not -- I just can't write back!

I just realized that I don't get the "PC only" message. I have Block Popups selected in the Safari menu. Keeps them annoying critters at bay on other web sites as well.

So THAT'S why I never saw it before today! Somehow my Block Popups setting got turned off. Fixed! Thank you!
