VMK Moderation Views on how it is going now....

I can't believe anyone would say such a terrible thing!!! Well let's hope that additional staff will get things under control soon.. I have my doubts thought as this morning I saw a room titled " Play Boy Party!" Can you imagine a Playboy Room on VMK...disgusting!

I don't think adding a few extra staff with do much good. Its ONLY a few extra when they need ALOT more then that. I had to report someone the other day as well for claiming they worked for VMK but were on their other toon. I told them they can't say things like that before I did it. I basically very nicely told them it isn't ok to lie about being VMK staff ever in the game and he tried to say he wasn't lying. I let him know that VMK staff would never go around telling others that info and then I reported him. No one ever did a thing. I got the reply that was something like "thanks for the report. We will look into it." I have been saying this for awhile now. If they had put the big foot down when they should have a LONG time ago on these people that break the rules (big or small) the game would more then likely not be so out of control. And I also feel and have said that I wouldn't be surprised if it is what ends up being the reason for it end one day. They can't control how things are with those that scam, use adult talk, etc and they don't seem to care with how it looks about them taking care of the problems. I'm sorry but if someone says they wish your kids dead that should be handled right then and there. If they use bad language in some way it should be handled right then and there. Being harrassed by others should be handled right then and there. BUT these things aren't. It seems they are never handled so those that do that get away with it and think it is ok to keep doing it. Others see it and think its ok to do it as well since the ones they say didn't get in trouble for it. And that is how the cycle begins and keeps going. If they ban whoever a few days, week or month later it is pointless. Those people forgot what they did wrong and think they never did a think wrong ever in the game and don't get why they were banned. They need to take care of things as it happens. Yes its alot of work but that is what the job of a moderator is. And they are getting paid for it so they should be doing it the right way at all times and not when they feel like it or when its to late. JMO

Last week, I was playing pirates and a boy came out in the lobby after the game "cussing" up a storm and calling people inappropriate names. I reported him and got a message that "call for help" is for emergencies only.

Also last week, my daughter was playing pirates and a player was dictionary dancing like nobody's business, she reported and got the message back that "call for help" is for emergencies only.

Hmm, so what is an virtual emergency?: "Help, I've fallen and can't get up!" ;heart attack? chocking? fire? car crash?

Perhaps it is because it is summer and the kiddies are out of school, but I have noticed an increase in rudeness, nastiness, meanness, vulgar talk etc. In fact I find myself constantly having to quickly exit rooms, mostly public rooms because of the awful stuff going on in them... I don't see how it is so difficult for VMK to control this activity, other sites seem to have no problem. As far as I know the game is on one server, ONE and they can't monitor one server? There are other sites with hundreds of servers and the moderation seems to be working there?? I just don't get it??

While I agree there are new moderators on vmk, I'm not so sure they are added mods. I have not seen a few older moderators in quite some time. I believe these new mods are replacements.
I have no facts to back up my statement, this is strictly my opinion.

I say the moderation on vmk is good.. tonight i sadly got banned.. but i was reported with in at least 3 minutes before the ban.. they read it quick i guess.. but back on topic: i haven't really reported because sometimes ppl who report get trouble back at them

Im no moderater or anything but a couple weeks ago iwas in the drive in on mainstreet i happened to see to vips making fun o fa girl who asked the guy vip if he was taken. I think that it was rude to make fun of her. they said if i even did taken i would not say yes to you because you ugly.I did not know if i should have reported or not because they where vip and i did not want to get banned again for reporting a false statement.

I just reported a player for use of bad language, and I got another good response. Guess the moderation is slowly improving

VIP is ONLY a badge people received in the parks for taking a tour. It means nothing.
There was no real need to report someone for calling someone else names, but maybe if you see this again you can tell people to click ignore and leave the room. If there is bad language, then report.

Yesterday, I had to report a player who came into my quest room because of his title. I can't believe VMK let this title slip through the cracks, because it was basically adding a _cl to the title:

Xxxxxxxxx_cl (title not being used for obvious reasons)

So I felt obligated to report him only for having that title. I listed as my
reason:

I am surprised VMK allowed this player have this title. He might tell others he is a leader.

I thought it was important enough to report because of potential abuse. I did get a response thanking me for reporting it, as I'm sure it was obvious to staff that his title was an issue that needed action taken.

I have been wondering that too. What do they class as "emergency" for the Help button?? Anybody have any ideas?

^If someone slips through the Dictionary by saying something extremely offending or somehow swearing.
If they start dictionary dancing (by saying offending things) during pirates or hm, remember their titles and report after the game.
