VMK League of Justice: Thieves and Untrustworty VMKers Beware!

This is an idea inspired by (name deleted)'s post. If anyone in charge thinks this is a good idea and can make it a sticky thread, that would be awesome.

I have heard of many many people, especially kids and people new to the game (and me), getting jacked or "taken" by not-so-nice people on VMK. This means getting bad trades, getting things "stolen" as a result of trickery, etc. And generally, meeting mean and bad people without the spirit of kindness and friendship that is supposed to be the heart of Disney and VMK.

So I would like to start a VMK Justice League. It seems VMK does not always do their part to ban or suspend these people, or fix the situation in favor of the victims. So it is up to us here at Dis!

Basically, if you have been "taken" or met anyone on VMK that people should be wary of for any reason, post their name here (or PM me if you want to remain anonymous, and I will not identify you on the list). If you have a picture of them, know their room names or usual hangouts, or any other identifying information, add that too. We can keep a list of the untrustworthy here so everyone will know to steer clear of any trades or friend requests from those people. Of course, along with name and other info, please post why this person should be on the list! (ex: cutieguyforme: white male, blond hair, "borrowed" my teleporters b/c he wanted to make sure they worked first and then ran away with them and deleted me from friend list) I made that name up, hope it's not anyone real! This way we can make sure to be on the lookout and before trading, consult the list.

I will keep track of the list, you can PM me the info or post it here and I will keep it updated. Also, if someone you think tricked you just made a genuine mistake, maybe we can find them and let them know what happened. Then if they run away, we know if was not a mistake!

It may also be good to start a list of known, trustworthy DIS members and CLs who can be trusted to help out in a three party trade to avoid bad situations. If you want to nominate someone for this duty, PM me with why they would be good for the job, and if they get three nominations, I will ask them if they want to be on the list.

If I go into why this is not a good idea it is the same as rehashing it all over.

It's okay, I got a PM from someone else, we can kill the idea. Besides, the person I felt sorry for that inspired the thread, and I offered to help, just booted me out of their game after I waited in line forever and was waiting in the chair while he crashed and came back. Then I and I alone was booted. So I can just continue looking for a good deed for someone else who deserves it!

Unfortunately, my boyfriend was ridiculously bashed for having this idea about a month or two ago. He got jumped on for the idea and it turned into another brawl.

When people have differing opinions it is not a brawl....but I do think this topic is better left alone and think this thread should probably be closed.

Mal, I think you know as I do that a brawl is not defined as being merely a difference of opinion. It turns into something far worse, but this is off topic.

Again, OP, I like your idea and do not see how it is any different from telling friends on the Dis to watch out for a bad trader.

Thanks Nikki, I did read the other thread you were referring to, I didn't have any trouble finding it. Unless there are more than one....I didn't read all the posts but I get the point. It's better left alone. I can see that there is no real way to tell if someone on the list is really a "VMK thief" or if they made a mistake. I can see now that the idea is good in theory but would never work in practice! Thanks for the kind input, Nikki (and Bezoar, who PM'ed me)

Sorry schnerk and Spongeblair, but the idea was found to be a bad one. Sorry, but no justice league! We can use this thread to post bad trades if you want, but like others have told me, we don't want to "blacklist" anyone, and really have no way of knowing if they meant harm or if they are really a bad person, etc.

And Sponge, it's okay about getting booted. I was kinda hurt and already in a bad mood, so sorry if i was rude about it. I just really wanted to win! And I finally found a falling chairs game that was good I will definitely come back and play, I can't remember if you are on my friend list but I will find your room again. What is the exact name of it?
