VMK is asking me to change my name... again (need help!)

Hi DISers,

I need your help. I joined VMK over the summer, and have been lurking here since soon after.

I chose the name anya_sparrow and all was great.

Sometime during Halloween, they asked me to change my name. I went through a couple of versions of the same name. My most recent was anya.sparrow and all was well.

Tonight when I logged in, they asked me to change it again. I know you all can relate to the idea that changing your name when friends already know you as your title is awful.

Does anyone know why they keep asking me to change my name? Is it because of the "Sparrow"? I see lots of other Disney "characters" in people's names, so I don't understand why Sparrow would be different.

If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate the help!

Other than that, I have to change my name to something totally different, and I am bummed.

How about nothing with anya? maybe like: asparrowfan or Fan_o_Sparrow (picked up from Fan_o_Chernabog).

Im a little afraid that vmk staff may be trying to remove ALL of the names inside the vmk names. if so, most of my friends will be guests soon.

Probably because you have what they suspect to be part of your real name, "anya," within your VMK title. I can't imagine any other reason for this to be happening.

I, too, was name-slapped. The first time occurred after about two months of making my account -- "Briar__Rose" (same as on DIS). After this, I alternated it a bit, but it generally remained the same. Though it was approved as before, I got the notice a few weeks later. So I figured I should try something entirely different, and here I am with "Briar_Beauty." I love my current title, and I will be very annoyed if I see that message again.

I agree with the others and think you should try to take anya out. What about CaptainessSparrow or AfanofSparrow or something along those lines? I had one of my characters get that message as well and it really stinks. Good luck!

I do feel that they are also stopping the use of characters names I had a character that I used alot since shortly after I started named Stitchscuz who recently had to go through a name change. She had this name since February when I created her. I created a new name for her which so far is sticking (non-disney related lol). I just hope my main character never has this fate also

I was wondering this too, and I hope you aren't right. But, in all honesty, they can't expect a Disney game full of Disney fans NOT to have Disney-related account titles?!

in my oppinion if we can say it in VMK we can use it. or atleast that is what i have noticed. But that doesnt explain SuperTeacher or anything. So what if you maybe are a teacher in real life, VMK shouldnt be upset by that. In fact they should be glad that someone is there with that high of a education to teach us all. - insert wink here -

Well from all of this i know for a fact that my days are numbered with the name "AuntieJulie". So if they make me change it i think i will change it to antjewel since everyone on vmk calls me either ant or jewel. That way all of my friends will still know who i am.

Well, I believe that they don't like the Teacher part of the name due to the fact that it describes her as being an adult. Remember that we are not supposed to to tell people if we are kids or adults in the game.

I'm still surprised that after a year, my Terribear mule has not had to change her name (yet).

Lucky for me, I don't think that my main character will need to have her name changed.

Your Terribear and my LAURABEARZ!!!! OMGosh I will be so sad if I need to make a new title.... I cant even think about it... Plus I have used all the other names I would title myself as my good friends....

When I made a "Born in Park" character at WDW, all of my POC related titles were rejected. Names with Sparrow, Barbossa and Swan in them were all rejected.

it took me long enough to think of this name. If I have to changs mine I would have to think really hard. Something like MustangShelby, or ShellsNSauce because everyone calls me shell and I love spaghetti. LoL
