I am still fairly new to the game....I am just curious if some of you can give me some background history about Inferno magic? When was it first given out? How? In what ways has it been earned or given out?

I see some people in the game with mutiple mutiple multiple infero (some even all 5 stars) and I am just curious how they got it (assuming perhaps it wasn't traded for later on...)

I await your history lesson....

:surfweb:

Inferno was given out in a variety of different ways.

Staff trades
special event prizes
staff games (difficult ones, 3 generators match all 3 numbers for instance)
and finally we had a 50 inferno give away not to long ago.

Why did I have a feeling you (Aengus) would surely respond!?! hehe. THANKS!

So by staff trades, you mean a typical staff trade night (like the ones recently on Thursday) a staff member would have inferno on their lanyard for trade?? Wow.

I guess I missed out on the big "50" giveaway. I missed out on all the good stuff!

No by staff trades it was more like an extremely occasional thing where like yavn would show up in a trade room. I dont think more than a handful ended up in the game that way. I seriously doubt you will see that happen ever again.

The 50 inferno giveaway. Well you didnt miss much really. What do you think your odds were in that? ROFL

Oh My Pickles don't even remind me on the 50 giveaway I remeber the last day lily wondered the streest giving the last ones out and people form search parties no more like rescue teams to search for lily and get the inferno I was one of those people that was a theme in itself too bad it wasn't dark and there were no searchlights beaming down on main street and the occasional F.B.I tuck parked halfway through the emporium wall................. :lmao: :rotfl:

LOL Remember this Aengus????

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the first group of Infernos given away to various people during that parade where everyone danced down Main Street?

Yes you would be correct

* The weekend after opening, players were told to gather on Main Street and "parade" along its length. Some parade "leaders" were awarded the Dancing Inferno magic pin. Then a few staff members "hid" themselves in some rooms in the game, and the first people to find each of them were awarded prizes.

Yup that was the first special event. My son got inferno that way.

Before the difficult staff games, there were staff games with only one generator. One in six chance of winning. Those were the days of 1000+ lines for host games and constant clicking on busy rooms.

And people forget the 20-80 Infernos given as prizes after the Waterslide Competition.

There were also weekly (sometimes 3-4 times a week) Host Quests that gave out Infernos (1-2 per quest). These weekly quests were like clockwork for a very long time, meaning every week you could figure on a few chances to get an Inferno.

There are actually quite a few Infernos in-game, believe it or not.

I forgot about the staff quests LOL. Heck I won one from a quest by Caffdawg :rotfl:

Oh and of course... It's a movie reward ROFL

History can be re-written! :rotfl:

Well, I actually might be able to have my own inferno in a few days. How nice!

Thank you VMK and/or Disney Movie Rewards!!! :teeth:

Now if they only add that darned eye pin to the list of prizes...

Also Inferno's were a prize from the 2005 Halloween Costume Contest (that is where I got mine).
