VMK Guide: So You're Going to WDW

Your information is incorrect. There are official Disney trading pins that can be purchased for the pirate collection in which you get a VMK code as well. 10 as a matter of fact. These are available in WDW, WDL and WDW Merchandising...
This is true. However those are not cards you get free with a purchase. Those are cards you have to purchase along with pins.

...Additionally, you can still obtain codes when purchasing an embroidered set of ears. If you have the right attitude, the CMs will give you some of what is left in their almost empty stock. A friend was there two weeks ago and recieved 2 cards with codes...each on a different day...
I would not doubt this information at all. However I have asked multiple CMs at both the shop and VMK Central and none of them seemed to know about them. I would not be surprised if you could still find ALL 5 of the cards if you got a CM willing to really search for them.

The information contained in my post from 6/14/07 is still pretty much current (including that they still have tent room cards left).

Actually, when I went there, I was able to get the card at the other counter, where there were barrels of Nerds candy.

It might have just been my CM, but I scratched off Horse according to this guide, and she accepted it. Again, I might have just gotten a nice CM. :yay:

Actually, when I went to MK recently on Monday, they accepted my answer as "A Drinking Gourd", so hmm again I guess it was the CM? :rolleyes1

I think what bopper said in a really old post on this thread, was true. This is a cool little travel- sized WDW guide! It's easier to print out than the VMK Players Guide, and it's devoted only to things you can do in-park for vmk. I printed it out, took it with me to WDW, and it was a HUGE help!! Thank you so much for this AWESOME thread!!

you do not have to print the whole guide by the way. you click on the number of the post you wish to copy and it will bring up that post only. Just a tid bit of info.

This answer is wrong and they will not accept it any more. It should be "A barrel of rum"

When I was at the MK this past June I answered "barrel of rum" but was told this was incorrect and given the opportunity to guess again...and again...and again until by trial and error I picked the correct answer of Gourd. It was explained (by the very nice CM behind the counter) that you will not see a Barrel of Rum at the magic kingdom as it is a Dry Park. I'm not sure if there's truly a barrel of rum to be seen in the attraction or not. But I thought her explanation made sense.

There are quite a few barrels in the attraction and even though they are really empty, they are meant to portray barrels filled with some kind of spirits.

3) Get “printable pdf’s” from VMK Quests and Games (if you can) and Hand them in at VMK Central
• Jungle Cruise – Play Jungle Cruise and get a Top Ten Score and you will get a Tent Room Pdf.
• Hidden Mickey – Finish finding all the Hidden Mickeys and get a Golden Collection pdf. (They still do not have any of these cards, but give credit cards instead. The card I got today was for 500 credits, but have got 100 credit cards before.)
• Fireworks – Get high score and get a printable for a Nemo chair (They do not have any of these cards and do not give anything for this PDF.)
• Pirates of Caribbean Game – Win 10 times at level 3 and get a printable paper you can turn in at WDW for an invisibility magic spell (Not sure if this still works)

Is this still possible? How do you know when this is given to you? Is it a message? I have never seen this....

I don't think it works this way any more since the new fireworks started, but it used to be that if you got the high score, you got a message that took you to a link which you could print off and take to WDW or DL and redeem. My DD scored one once.

As far as pirates is concerned, I'm not sure they even still have invisiblilty cards, but it is cool magic to have. I think the gold/silver/bronze keys have superceded this.

EDIT: OOPS! From the sound of the latest Dear Yeti column in the newsletter, these .pdfs are no longer availabe.

But anyway: the way you used to get the .pdf was from a link that could be found on the bottom of an automatically generated VMK message. It did not look like a link in the message, but said it was one and clicking on it would bring up the .pdf file. If you got one of these VMK messages it could not be deleted by you and would stay in your message box for a week or two until it was automatically deleted.

Just an update from today at WDW VMK Central.

They have now changed the requirement for time between uses of the same park pass to redeem VMK quests to 60 days.

They also still have some tent room cards left to give out for the Jungle Cruise pdfs.

Thanks Bob!
We leave Friday and get to the parks on Tuesday! I am super excited!!!!!!!

Any last thoughts or tips???

My friends are going mid September, family of four. I have the Tomorrowland, High school musical,POTC treasure hunt and Animation quests for them to take.

Do I need four of each or will they take just one copy for all four people? I know the thrill seekers and and the ones you print out (pink nemo chair, tent room, etc) from the actual game are just one for one.

Are Frontierland, Fantasy and Adventureland quests still available? I have the forms already.

And lastly, have I missed anything? Thanks in advance for any help!!;)

I would suggest 4 just to be safe.

The only things still going are the 5 quests (Tomorrowland, High School Musical, Thrill Seekers, Pirate of the Caribbean, and Animatrion), the tent room PDF, and they give credits for the gold collection PDF.

Hi

Just went to VMK Central yesterday with all of our quests and print outs. We actually only needed one of each quest even though we had seven people in our group ( I would still bring extras)

kids created in park characters and did receive black ears

they (VMK) did not honor jungle cruise or hidden mickey print outs, told me that they were expired and were not offering a substitution, made a ponit of telling us that VMK was closing and then kept the papers.

the person attending us was an older gentleman.

All in all, kids are happy. they have their Mickey tv's, Kali couches and black ears and all is good in the World!!!

So what can you do these days for VMK in WDW besides buy the Pirate Pins?
