Has VMK been crashing a lot more tonight than usual? But that's not why I'm posting. I got this message the last time it crashed on me...

I hope someone informed the cast members that they are purgeable. I wonder if it's in their contracts....:lmao:

Basically, all avatars are sprites. Someone must have been entering the room, and your machine couldn't handle the payload. Bottom line, I would run less programs at the same time.

That message sounds familiar... why do they need to purge the castmembers anyway? :rotfl:

I get that message at least everyday. idk wat it means :confused3

Hmmmm, I haven't been getting that, but I have been crashing lately. Many of my friends have been crashing also. :confused3

Also cannot stop crashing, especially in Pirates. Makes getting credits for Tiki Month nearly impossible!!

I always get that pop-up too. Extrememly annoying, especially when it pops up when I only have 2 things running :headache:

It means your virtual memory is to low you should check your ram settings or on how to change how much ram/hard drive space that the virtual memory eats up I know my computer does it automaticly for me you should check how much ram you have I know I got 512 MB of ram.

I'm going to say that something must have changed with VMK, or Shockwave as I've been running the same setup for the last few months. But last night it was crashing on me about every 10-15 minutes. I agree with the assessment that it's a memory issue. Why it's coming up now is a mystery to me. My guess is that Shockwave probably downloaded a new "update" and now it's VMK's turn to catch up. Or ViseVersa. Oh well, I'll find out in a few hours.:hourglass

NO Ive had it happened and had to change my memory settings it has nothing to do with shockwave but vmk taking up to much memory usage so it's your turn to catch up and change your settings so it isn't even about shockwave it's about vmk and also your computer yes but have you downloaded more stuff? and it has to do with RAM and Virtual Memory settings since my dad works with computers alot I know alot about this from my dad and brother. Trust me it's not shockwave or updates with vmk and shockwave and it won't just happen right away it happens after a few months or so.

All computer programs use up memory. Whenever a new subroutine is run, like playing potc, it uses more, when done, it's supposed to dump that subroutines memory usage to give you back more memory. Since about the time the dark rides came out, VMK has not been doing a very good job at dumping the free memory.

You can right click on your task bar and click task manager and then look for either IE or Firefox and see how much memory it's using at that time.

I've noticed that once mines gets above 400mb, it crashes with that message. I've told VMK about it a few times, no response.

So, if you play VMK for a few hours and need to go to the bathroom or gets some food or just take a break, exit out of VMK, close IE or Firefox, give it a minute to free up the memory, then log back in.

Hey i got this same message the other day and i had no clue why.

Last night VMK continued to crash on me again fairly often. Even after purging temp files, checking the virtual memory stash, etc. However, during the last crash, after clicking "send error report" (which I always do when given the opportunity), Internet Explorer actually came back with the "Click for more details" link. IE claimed the problem was with the Adobe Flash Player, that an update was available, and that I should update the player. Which I then did. After that I stayed online for about an hour without any incidents. Just some anecdotal information.

Has it happened more after putting the vmk communicator on you computer!! or maybe the finding nemo game, that has bruce and nemo running around on your computer.
they both take up active memory on your computer , therefore reducing the amount of available memory for VMK to run in!!
