:sad2: :sad1: Goodbye VMK at Disneyland... :sad1::sad2:

Hopefully you will be back soon!! Hope some of you who live close enough got there to get the last of the Quests!

 You will be missed VMK Disneyland

Aww in a couple hours, there will be no more... :(

No!!!!!!! How could they do this! :(

wonder what they are doing with the codes they have left. Handing them out like candy? Or shipping them down to WDW? Throwing them away?

Throw them AWAY?! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2: I didn't even get a Red Space Magic Suit Code.

I went last night and got my Mickey TV card!:thumbsup2 It was bittersweet. Especially with those huge pictures of the other "seasonal" Mickey items, that we won't ever get, staring at us!:sad1:

Sadly, that made me want to cry. :sad1:

I am a DLR frequent, so this is hard times for me. :sad2:

Good bye DLR VMK kiosk! Now back to our regularly scheduled program, going to DLR just for the fun of it!:woohoo:

Well, it's a sad day for DLR Disneyland VMKers

Without much of an explanation at all, the quests that we have come to love in a game that we have helped grow (yes, we know it's all part of a marketing plan that we have played right into), the quests at Disneyland have officially come to an end today. :(

Our friends with access and ability to visit WDW are truly the remaining lucky ones. I guess we will no longer need to have the DLR / WDW debate. That has been settled.

On a personal note, the quests at DLR were fun, educational about little Disney tidbits, and became a fun new hobby. So sad when something that you have come to enjoy is taken away. Is it a decision a corporation has a right to make? Of course.

Is it a decision that we are allowed to be very unhappy with? Yep! I have enjoyed VMK Quests at DLR, have connected with others due to them, and have had the joy of sharing the rewards with others. Sadly, all of that has now been taken away. I will miss the side-effect fun and joy that came from VMK Disneyland Quests.

Sorry about the last photo, pesky blue box would not move. Somewhat fitting, huh? CLOSED.

Sweet Disney Dreams all.

Cant help but show this 1 from DLR today as it is ironically similar to our little closing photos above. Nope, NO ONE at DLR interested in doing quests.

though I didn't make it to DLR while VMK was there I did feel sadness as that blue closing box popped up knowing that I won't have that chance. So many of my friends are DLR people and I really feel for all of you that the opportunities to get quests was taken so quickly from you and with no reasonable explanation. Sorry I missed the closing but I was thinking of all my DLR friends

please post as soon as anyone knows if we can still play vmk inside inoventions come tomorrow

There just isn't much to say about it anymore, except to express our extreme displeasure with a corporate decision as a consumer of said company.

The quests at DLR were fun, educational about little Disney tidbits, and became a fun new hobby. Disney worked to get us attracted to their new marketing tool (VMK) and lured us to the park to spend money while collecting our quest rewards. And we bought into it. Emotional, and literally.

Is it a decision a corporation has a right to make? Of course.

Is it a decision that we are allowed to be very unhappy with? Yep!

I have enjoyed VMK Quests at DLR, have connected with others due to them, and have had the joy of sharing the rewards with others.

I discovered a new hobby and 1 that connected with my lifelong love of Disney at that. Sadly, all of that has now been taken away. I will miss the side-effect fun and joy that came from VMK Disneyland Quests.

Oh, and just to add salt to the wounds - No quest cards for me today. I was 4 days away from my 60 day waiting period being over, as a Cast Member informed me. Guess I will go back on Thursday. Oh wait..... :sad2:

And NO ONE should be lead to believe that this decision, whatever reason is behind it, has anything to do with a lack of interest. Just a few people were there to get their last quest rewards.

Sigh.... Sad when a hobby that adds fun and friends to your life is cut off.

We were at DL today too and the line for the VMK Kiosk was long all day long. I have never seen it that way before. We had a large group of family and we kept going back thinking it would go down in size, but it never changed. They had 2 CM's going down the line checking quest answers and marking them, so it would go faster once you made it to the counter. Out of all the CM's I asked, only 1 told me he was sad to see it go. Just before I got to the front, they pulled all the quest cards and replaced them with park maps....that was sad to see. For anybody who asked, they still handed them a quest card from the desk, but they were not out to grab anymore.

I'm still hoping there is something great coming soon in its place....lets hope its sooner rather then later!

The CM that we spoke to on Sat. night said that it would stay for at least little while butdidn't know anything else about it.:confused3

I wonder why did this happen? DLR should be treated like WDW and get to keep the quests!

Rememeber, we still have the animator desks, and the stuff you get from shopping at Disneyland. :)

I couldn't have said it better myself. It is a Sad Day. Good Bye DLR VMK Central. R.I.P. :sad1: Want to express your opinion to DLR's Guest Communications Department? Give them a polite call at (714) 781-4669 Option 0.

I couldn't go yesterday to "say goodbye", but I did make it to DLR on Satuday with some friends who hadn't taken their final VMK Quests... We had to stand to the side to get this picture? You know why? Yeah, that's right... There was a line in front of the kiosk. Sigh...
Still, as you say there are lots of fun things to do still at DLR... Here are my friends giddy as school children enjoying the new Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island:
Good times... good times.

We turned in our first and last quests at DLR on Saturday :sad1: We were there all week and the line for VMK never seemed to let up. I don't believe the excuse that it is because of a lack of interest that they are closing the quests down. Though I might believe that it is because the queue is long enough to interfere with people trying to get to the new Nemo ride.

It was still fun to collect the other VMK cards, though a little pricey to have to buy t-shirts and magic store items, no prob with the candy ;) The one I liked best was for doing the class at animation in DCA ... no cost involved and learning to draw was fun. I hope that the future release of VMK cards at DLR follow along the same concept as the animators desk rather than making us purchase stuff.
