Welcome to the Vmk Rehab Program. My name is Alyssa and I was once and Still a Vmk addict. I started in April some time and i came here to help get people off vmk( eventhough i can't). i became a leader in sept. But, i came here to make people take that leap back to the light, to reality, to restart your life. To get away from inferno and fireworks and pirates. I am here to comfort you in any way to get you off this virtual place. So please lets go around the board and tell us your story..... :teeth:

:rotfl2:

I'm not sure if I qualify as an addict but here is my story

- My name is VirtuallyMe (yeah that is my new real name- I will respond to Me and occaisionally to mummy but only for two players). I have played VMK since The end of August 2005 - I have not yet succomed to the severe addiction of some by becoming a community leader...

So am I addicted... lets look a little more closely at things...

Does it count too that I remained in the Base Camp of my teams ride room for two solid days when I only HAD to be there 4 of the 24 hours I actually was?

How about that the new family saying is that if my dh and I weren't so addicted to VMK we would... this started when my 17yo got upset that we asked him to clean up his room- and apparently he feels our supposed addiction to VMK is causing his room to smell like Frito's

How about that I am actually responding to this from work instead of - eek , gasp- look of shock and awe- working...

How about that I no longer bring my lap top to work else I'll spend the entire day playing fireworks and jungle cruise for all those credits I keep stockpiling...

How about that not only does my 8yo daughter play and has an active character that she plays- but my 19 month old has had a character since October 2005 too.

How about the fact that dh and I sometimes fight over who gets the good chair to play VMK on our laptops because it is just right to sit in and play fireworks- although I do fight with him less but only because I can also play sitting on the sofa and he can't (snickers)

How about that I check this board and the Zeta site way too frequently that I'd probably lose my job if my boss found out...

How about the fact that I often find my self typing my numbers on too tree and say weak for week and countless other things I'm forced to do in the virtual world of dictionary dancing madness but in real life?

How about that for the first time in years my carpal tunnel is actually bothering me- despite past over use of computer habits

How about that I have pretty much tried to plan other activities around some of the VMK/Dis activities- "sorry I can't go with you to the park kids- there is a ride-a-thon today"

How about the fact that I no longer answer the phone when I'm playing the game- and have told my daughter to tell my mother in law that I was in the bathroom when I was in the middle of a good game of fireworks.

How about that the fact that for some reason Yeti Vision is not giving me any more codes is now quite disconcerting even though I have enough chairs and rooms for dh, dd, ds and myself- but hey I wanted more...

How about the fact that dh just IM'd to tell me he needs 7 more stacks of ice chairs to complete his ice floor in a room or that I responded that I needed another 10 stacks of 8 to make my wall uniform in the room I have them stacked

How about the fact that if I quit writing this I could be going home to play some more- but then I remember that I have a thing at youngest dd's school and I'm trying to figure out if I can get out of it so I can play more VMK... but probably won't because she has talked about this for so long...

So now I look it all over and I don't even think I have a problem. I'm sure other people are much worse than me- I'm fine- no addiction here at all- really- I can quit anytime- yeah anytime- no problem here- go about your business - pay no attention to the person blasting fireworks in the good chair

Wow! You had me rofl :rotfl2: here, until I realized you were talking about me :oh! Hey, it really did sound a lot like me except I think I am worse because ...dun, dun, dun(insert music here)....I went the extra step and became a CL back in the first week (or should I say weak) of December  ;).

HELP! I"M ADDICTED!! :worried:

lol. The Virtual Magic Kingdom is a good thing. I am sure of it lol. Where else can you get the gratifying sensation of giving a friend many ice cubes and a few rare items for free? Then continue the act by giving a few random players rare and hard-to-get items? You just can't anywhere other than VMK.

Where else can you escape to a world completely free of judgment? Where she is just as "weird" as he. lol.

You become the dancer you have always dreamed of becoming, in vmk! Not many other people can top the "dictionary dance"! lol.

You build up your hand-eye coordination! Don't let people try to fill your brain with comments such as "That fireworks game clears your mind and that pirate game fills it with determinations to 'blast those bilge rats!'" What you are actually doing is working up some major hand-eye skills! lol

You are given the power you have always wanted! Ever sit with company and think to yourself "When will she/he just shut up?" or "What is this person blabbing about now?" Well with the "boot" button you are given the chance to "send company home early" lol.

You can walk the Magic Kingdom in less than 5 minutes! Have fun telling your friends that yes, you have successfully walked completely around the kingdom in 5 minutes or less lol. See if they can say the same...heh, they can't unless they participated in some sort of super fast power walking class lol.

Get rich fast! VMK is the only place you can earn fast money and not have to pay off any sort of bills. You can spend all your "credits" on things for your "house" and clothes! ...a dream come true... lol.

Vmk is the best thing that could happen! I am doing nothing wrong by playing this game! It builds up skills and gets your mind working! lol. It is perfectly okay to spend a few hours on the game... :surfweb: :teeth:

In VMK I am pretty, skinny, have no debt or responsibilities. VMK isnt so much an addiction as an escape.

I can't relate to that one at all . Oh wait, my <sarc/on> needs to
be turned <sarc/off>. ;) I was right there with you, dc through dc,
Short Key to Short Key. LOL! Yes, there were major problems with us
for being there all day long!

I'm so bad that I have to jump on Friday evening to be sure to get my
new limited pin from the Emporium, or the new clothing releases.

I saved credits but spent too many of them that going under 100k credits
seems too low . Yes, there's something wrong with
that picture! LOL!

OH that reminds me..I spent every day in my base camp, every hour since nobody else would Lol. Once or twice someone else would come in for a few minutes then they left again.

This thread is hilarious! I'm new here but have been addicted to VMK for months! It's nice to see other people have the same "problem" as me. :) My friends and family think I'm crazy!
