Visually impaired family plan holiday to orlando theme parks

Hi, I'm new here. We are looking for some advice about where to stay and any other tips. We are a family of 4. All of us are visually impaired, which means hiring a car is not an option. We want to travel next year and We want to visit the wdw parks and universal etc. Any advice about hotels within walking distance of restaurants, shops, entertainment etc. and / or buses that would take us to universal as well as wdw?

How visually impaired are you guys? My mum is partially sighted but manages quite well. I'd recommend the disabilities board for specific help!

Maybe think about staying onsite at disney. Everything is easily accessible - you can use the free disney buses/boat/monorail to access all the parks and resort hotels so lots of dining options.

For a trip to Universal - a taxi may be the easiest way. Alot of people like a night onsite to get the perks of front of line access. Lots of restaurants in walking distance at citiwalk.

Hi! My Husband is Visually Impaired ,and I can't drive, so we rely on taxis and public transport while in Orlando. Honestly it is so easy to get around! Last year we stayed at The Marriot Courtyard Hotel in Lake Buena Vista and the hotel had its own bus service to the parks. This year we are staying onsite but we wouldn't hesitate to stay off site again including I -Drive where we stayed 2 years ago. The staff at WDW, Universal and Seaworld couldn't have been more understanding about my Husband.

thank you. All very helpful, I think we will probably stay on site as its our first time, but may try the bus option to Universal. Have also investigated the DISabilities forum, which is also very helpful, so thanks for that tip.
