I have been checking things out, and I wonder if someone can help me with this. :confused3 My daughter is a high functioning autistic teen. :lovestruc She has problems remembering some things (especially when tired or upset):guilty: and we have found that using small "scripts" with visual supports help alot.:teacher: She is about to start a new high school and a thought a few scripts with her favorite characters (Tinkerbell, Aurora, and Minnie)might be helpful.:tinker:::MinnieMo
So what I have in mind is a little story, in the first person, for a few of her "hard tasks." :laundy: Such as:
When I get up on a school morning I need to follow my schedule so that I will be on time.
A shower & shampoo are important to help me have a good day.
A good breakfast, with some protein, helps me have energy for schoolwork.
Being on time is important to my teachers and classmates.
Having my backpack, notebook, pens & pencils, a snack, and a water bottle will help me have a good day.
If someone or something upsets me I can take a break to calm down. Ms. Arends said I could use her office for cool down time.
It's important to finish all my work, each day. I can't pass with good grades, if I do not finish.
Some simple character pics of the characters looking at a schedule/calendar, taking a shower, eating breakfast, etc. would really help in this effort. I know this is a TON of work and I cannot tell you how much it would be appreciated!!!!(

I could do this but I am getting ready to go to Disney. I envision an regular size page (or half a page) with Tink yawning and waking up background and the words over the background, then Minnie brushing her hair.... and so on. I take about 2 hours to do each DISign I do when I create from scratch and I am behind the 8 ball doing my own DISigns for my trip. I will keep bumping this and hope someone jumps in. :goodvibes I will look for some backgrounds and post them in my thread. Penny

I wish so badly I could help with this! I want to start DISigning but I won't have the capability until I get a new computer and then I will first have to really learn what I'm doing and how to find the best images. My husband and I both work with individuals with disabilities and my husband uses "social stories" every day with his clients. I just want to wish you the best and should you need anything in the future I'd love to help! -Roni

Ok, these are quickies and I could have done better, but I am really strapped for time, but didn't want to leave you hanging. So since I posted, I have created and modified a few. If they are too busy, I can just put them on plain paper with a character?
Like this one (I probably should have done it this way it would have taken a lot less time):lmao:

Hope these help. :goodvibes

Those are amazing! Thanks, they will be so incredibly helpful. Especially the tinkerbell shower one....... Thanks Thanks Thanks.:lovestruc

Like I said, it was a quick job. I think I did them all in under 3 hours. Let me know if you want font changes (they are easy) or if I spelled a word wrong. I am an educator so I did check, but you never know, these old eyes don't catch everything. :goodvibes

I would continue to bump it up also as someone else might jump in with some other DISigns. Natalie does DISigns for students who are autistic, but she only pops in once in a blue moon. She probably has lots of social scripts on her computer, so if I can track her down and ask her, I will.:thumbsup2
Penny:hippie:

Bump - hoping someone else has some good ideas or better graphics to add to the needed social scripts. Thanks, Penny
