Visual Crowd Report for Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Yes, definitely before rope drop. For whatever reason, Disney did not open the Park until 9 AM on Wednesday during what what was sure to be a busy Spring Break week - with no Magic Morning, so thousands of people were trying to get in a the same time.

The lines at the gates were a hint of what was to come; @ ~8:21 AM:

YIKES!!!! Look at the lines for Disneyland alone being so close to the new DCA turnstiles. Imagine those new DCA gates were open right now. The esplanade for both parks is going to be crazy in busy months.

OMG!!!!!!:scared1::scared1:

and I was thinking of going down for a day or two! Guess NOT.

Modesty prevents me from telling you who boarded the first ship sailing for Never Never Land.

We were there and I can actually see my DH in the picture. While I knew roughly where to look, it helps that he is the only black man visible in the photo

Whoa. I hope that's not the norm during the summer. Crowded, yes, but not New Year's Eve crowded!

Ok, I'm running scared! How long is spring break season in So.Cal?! We are going in a couple of weeks for our first trip, and I am horrified at that picture!!

I don't think this is So CA spring break. My kids school is not out until Good Friday and then the week after. Other schools are out the week before Easter Sunday... I think the people who are here now are from other states....
Needless to say based on the photo that started this thread we didn't go today... Just couldn't handle the crowds... If you go get there early and fast pass it.. or get there late afternoon and plan to stay until closing..

Seriously we were there the week between Christmas and New Years and rope drop was not that bad! They should not have opened at 9 obviously!

We were there in that crowd somewhere, I had not been in disney since 1994 so I was not prepared for that amount of people. silly us pulled our kids out of school to avoid the crowds but forgot about everyone elses spring break, oh well we still had a ton of fun :)

Does anyone know if they might open the park earlier any days next week? The website states that they will open at 9am M-Thu, but can they change this spontaneously?

Also noted that they are opening at 8am the first week of April. and the 3rd week of April only. Anyone know why? Wish they had that opening time next week. That one hour could possibly make all the difference in riding all the rides in Fantasyland vs. riding only a few...

Curious if today will be less busy than Sunday since Sunday isn't a blocked day for AP's??:confused3

Dang!
I was at WDW Magic Kingdom in June 2009 when it was so packed, they opened the "behind the scenes/castmember" areas to help guests exit the park (which I did NOT want to do, I am into the magic and did not want to see the backstage areas) and it was NOT as bad as that pic!

What are crowd levels like June 4-11ish????

I see Grad Nights are June 8-9, what times do the parks close for that? We are planning a SoCal trip June 6-11 and are trying to figure out a best time to go to Disneyland.
