visting BW next week...should I visit DVC?

Hi we are going down next week for about two weeks. We will be staying at the BI and would like to look at he Villas while there. What should we do to arrange this? Is there a best way to do this?

You can stop by the BWV Sales Office or call from your room to make an appointment. They will be able to give you a nice tour and explanation of the DVC and benefits of ownership.

I took the tour a couple of times years ago b4 purchasing, and at that time we received free ice cream sundaes and a nice complimentary family portrait. Last I heard they were giving complimentary lunch on the Boardwalk for your tour freebie. Enjoy!!

I think the tour takes about an hour. But, if you tell them you have less time, they will tailor the tour for you.

I would go around and look at all the resorts. The sales folk will lie to you and tell you that "home resort doesn't matter" , it does matter. You should buy where you plan to stay. Resales are a very good way to buy in to DVC, BWV, VWL and OKW are only available through resale.

Be sure to get over to OKW, many feel its the only 'true' DVC resort.

"only available via resale" That sounds like BWV is sold out. So what are they going to show me? OKW sound nice but we really have liked the location between epcot, mgm and not that far from the sports part (can't go to long with out a fix of baseball !). Hmm I guess we will become more educated over the next few weeks.

They will show you sample model rooms that look like the villas at each resort. It is amazing the difference in the feel of each model according to the theming of the resort. You should look at the website Timeshare.com they have DVC resales listed at the resorts that are sold out like OKW, BWV & VWL. If you like the super location of the epcot resort area you will love BWV and the new BCV.

He makes an excellent point, though. The tour is great for learning about DVC as a concept, but you really *should* visit all of the onsite DVC resorts to see which one suits your tastes the most.

When we took the DVC tour - many years ago - it was one of the least pressured selling job we have ever encountered! We were not in a position to make the purchase at the time of our tour. The guide kept us informed by calling & sending letters once in awhile. And I remember theice cream & the pictures ! I was just looking at/dusting our picture earlier today!

Thanks we will tour around. Probably will be most interested in the epcot area since we have gravitated there over more and more. I did look at the timeshare site. I did not find anything for disney world...maybe it was buried in the kissimmee section. Seemed like most were off site but I did not do a good look...do that when we get back.

I guess the simple approach here is I will get educated first by them, see the sites and when I get I will learn more from you kind folks.

It sounds like you'd be best suited for the Boardwalk Villa's IMHO... That is available by resales only & here are the two companies that are mentioned most often here on the DIS

I would definitely take the tour & familiarize yourself with DVC, you can take a look at the units & ask any questions you might have. Currently, the only resort available on-site is the Beach Club Villa's, which of course is an EPCOT resort, so you might like that, you can take a look anyways.

Many people go with resales & have absolutely no problem, so if that's what you decide to do, no worries!
