Has anyone taken up on the offer by The Sheraton Group to try their Vistana Villages Resort in Orlando? We were thinking on doing their 4 night/5 day proposal for $219 + $100 in attraction monies. This would save us on the use of our points for next year. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Many find the sales tours somewhat high pressure and longer than the stated 90 minutes. Also, make sure that you get the dates you want BEFORE you commit or a written out if you can't.

We stayed at the Vistana last year (not Vistana Villages). I was able to pick up a week for almost nothing and gave it a try. It was okay. We saved a lot of points but I can't say that I would do it again. It just wasn't Disney. We all missed the extras that go with staying on site very much. My kids liked the pool but otherwise made it clear that they preferred DVC accomidations. We didn't do the sales presentation but they tried very hard to get us to.

We took up this offer last summer. For an extra $20 per night we upgraded to a 2 bedrooom. Also took 6000 spg points instead of the $100

The accommodations and pool were nice. There were some kids activities also. I would stay there again.

The time share presentation was not too bad- took the full 90 minutes. Once I said no, they accepted it, although I did have to tell it to the manager too. I noted that on my exit sheet was written "already owns DVC."

If you have any specific questions about the resort, please ask.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit at Vistana Villages in Feb.'02 for 10 nights and also did the sales pitch for an easy $100. The sales pitch was fairfly painless....we had no intention of buying there and said so pretty soon into the presentation. It took around an hour for us. The salesman actually did the presentation in the kids play area because we had 2 little ones and didn't really want to leave the youngest in there by himself. We also stayed at Vistana Resort in December in a large 1 bedroom for 10 nights but opted to not do the a presentation.

We found the accommodation to much better at VV (should be because it is newer) and we were in the Cascades section at VR which is one of their newer sections.

I would not hesitate to stay at VV again but the moving part during a trip doesn't really work for us right now because we have a 9 month old and it is just not worth the hassle.

We also stayed at Vistana--it's a lovely resort--but found the upkeep to be lacking. Since we are DVC members, we are used to how Disney does things, and it just wasn't Disney. There were many tables where people had eaten, and just left their stuff at lunch time. At 5PM nothing had been cleaned up, so I was irritated at that. It was indicative of the resorts' care of public areas, which we noticed over the days we stayed there. We were glad when we switched to Disney.

In June we did the presentation only- did not stay on the property. We recieved 8000 spg points. It was a rainy day and our two DS, age 20 & 23 went with us. While Dw and I did the tour, they sent our boys into a cafateria and fed them a full breakfast- thought that was a nice touch. Our "guide" accepted our NO very well, although she did have her manager come out and speak to us, he made an offer of booking one week at a great price just to give it a try & if we bought afterwards he'd apply those monies towards the purchase. Overall it was a very good experience. i have nothing bad to say about the resort other then it wasn't on disney property.
