Vistana Resort room location?

I did a search on "Vistana" and got some very good info on the different sections that people preferred, but some of the threads were pretty old so I though I'd ask for people opinions.

We are staying at the Resort (our first time off property) in early March and are filling out our Diamondlane info and want to request a room location. We have a 2 bedroom. Our 12-13 year old boys will want to be in the pools almost all the time we are on property. We like lounging around the pool and reading/drinking while they swim.

(Off topic-can we bring a small cooler to the pool with drinks or do we have to purchase from the bar?)

I see that people report the newer units are smaller than the old ones. Larger is better of course, but being used to having all 4 of us in 1 room onsite I don't think size will be a big issue for us.

We would really be dissapointed if the room was kind of ratty looking, but it doesn't sound like that will be an issue. If anyone has had a bad experience that would be helpful to know.

Any suggestions as to which section(s) you think would work best for us would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

you are filling your request much, much to soon - wait until February - right now it would be lost or throw away.

the bad parts of Sheraton Vistana - they are fixing.

I happen to love Springs - but others have hated it! - Cascades is the newest (but that has been years).

hopefully Maria or someone else who owns will help you shortly.

We own in Spas and love it - loved Springs too, yes a bit dated maybe but they are continually upgraded. I wouldnt want to be in Fountains area. Everyone is different.
Where we are is straight across from the Super pool and a short stroll from Cascades pool and the store - Ideal for us, only down side is the balcony is North facing so it can be a bit cool when we go in Feb as it doesnt get the sun.
We have taken coolers to the pool, and food as well. No Glass though thats just a bit dangerous.

We just got back about a month ago, stayed in a 2 bedroom in the Lakes, room 1903. Very nice

Thanks for the input everyone. We will hold off until after the new year to send in the diamondlane request as suggested.
