I am just starting to research the Vistana Resale market. (I am already a DVC owner)

We usually vacation at Easter. Would we need red prime? How do reservations work? If I buy in one section, is that where we are placed?
Also, do you need to check in on a certain day of the week or are the days flexible as long as you stay a week? (like Sunday to Sunday)

If we don't go the resale market, other than the Starwood site, can we book Vistana any other way?

Thanks in Advance. :flower:

is your heart set on Vistana or are you open to other timeshares....orlando is considered RED all year round

you might want to look into HGVC ( which works on point system ) it offers flexibility similar to DVC

in the HGVC system, Easter would be gold as far as points needed

they have a lot of classified ads for most resorts in olrando at www.tug2.net

when you get to the website just click on "Classified Ads" at the top and then go to "Florida Orlando"

I have a "floating" week that we bought resale in 1998. Even a floating week has a week "assigned" to it. Ours is in April. There are actually 2 levels. The lower level gets first dibs on about eight weeks a year. I booked Christmas to New Years 2003 a year in advance with no problems. Called a week later to get the first week in January 2004 and was told I had to wait til 60 days before, because it's a lower week and those owners always get first dibs. I didn't have any problems at 60 days, but it left my plans up in the air for a long time.

The floating week we have is in the Fountains area and we have to stay in the Fountains area. You can request Friday, Saturday or Sunday check-in. I have always gotten the week I want. We closed in May 1998, called immediately and stayed in June 1998.

I'm a Fountains owner as well. I own prime floating reservation. There are about 10 weeks that are blacked out where we can only reserve 60 days prior. But the rest of the year is open and we can book 1 year in advance. We are always placed in the Fountains section OR, as Fountains owners we can trade into Vistana'a Beach Club on Hutchinson Island in southeast FL. This is an internal trade and requires no exchange fee.
