We just got back today from the Vistana. We were there during Hurricane Jeanne if anyone has questions. We had a great time! The parks were open the day before and the day after. Very hot weather- but beatuiful. Crowds were OK. Walked onto Splash mtn and Space Mt. but had a 30 min. wait for Dumbo.

did you like/love/hate Vistana?

where do you stay?

would you stay here again?

how far were the parks from Vistana?

We really liked the Vistana. The only damage we saw was some siding came off a couple of buildings. We were in the Cascades section. Very nice and close to everything. The pools were great. Kids favoride was the Cascades pool - was open until 1AM.

Very close to the parks - between 5 and 10 min. depending on which park. About 2 min. from DD Disney.

We would probably stay there again but next time we want to stay on property. You kind of lose that Disney feel which could be good or bad depending on your taste. The washer & dryer and kitchen were just great. A must w/ little kids.

They were great during the Hurricane. They would leave instructions on your phone and on their TV station.

They never even asked us to do a timeshare presentation.

Is that the Sheraton Vistana Village? I just came across a timeshare special--$229 for up to four people for four nights. Only catch is you have to sit through a timeshare presentation. However, for that price, it might be worth it.

Who did you book your resort stay through? Did you see any of the older sections and hear anything about them while you were staying on property. We are checking in on a friday and I have a feeling we will be in an older section. What day did you check in?

I saw the older sections - outside only. They looked to be more stucco on the outside. vs. siding on the newer sections. I think you'll be happy wherever you are. My mom works for Sheraton so we booked through the employee line. We checked-in on a Friday.

This was the resort - not Villages.

Since you checked in on a friday and got cascades then maybe I will have a chance to get it.

I think they assign rooms based on how you are "renting" it. ex. are you RCI, an owner or just calling them directly and getting a room. I really think you will be happy wherever you are put. It's a beautiful place and HUGE! You need to drive to some of the pools. It's like a little city.

How was drive - easy to get in and out of Disney back to the hotel? I am not very good at direction
I am going to be there for 3 days starting 10/28 will be going to Epcot and Sea World. Should I make any request ? I have a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids ages 10 & 8)
How was the food - the menus look very reasonable and lots of selection .
Thanks Michelle

The drive is a piece of cake - esp. to Epcot - about 5 min. You will pass Sea World on your way to the Vistana from the airport - very close.

We ate at Zimmies twice - very convienient - fast service and the food was good - not very expensive either.

Strawberry Daiquires were excellent!

Jennifer - Great Thanks .. I was orginally at Tropical Palms but figured for the $60 more per night that these rooms looked bigger then the cottages at Tropical Palms plus 7 pools -- my kids are going to freak out !! do the pools have slides ?? Thx again Michelle

One pool had a OK slide. Our favorite was the Cascades pool- had fountains and a waterfall. The rooms were very nice - plus a kitchen and washer & dryer. We were there a week so those were a must.

The pools are open until 10 and some until 1:00 AM - it was neat swimming at night. You will love it there.

Jennifer - Thanks again! my kids didn't even ask about slides they just wanted to be sure we could try all 7! LOL

my mom is very excited about having a washer/dryer in the room she is  about doing laundry EVERY day at home so she was thinking she might have withdrawals on vacation!!

Did you cook or eat at any of the food places there ?

We cooked the day of the hurricane - could'nt go out and made a light breakfast every morning - cereal, frozen waffles, etc. We also ate at Zimmies at the Vistana - it was good and good price. There is a $5 off coupon (for Zimmies) on your map of the resort - we missed it and saw it when we got home.
