Vistana Resort by the night: which section likely?

We are making an impromptu trip to Orlando, and want to stay near Disney for 4 nights, August 15 - 19. There are no rooms available onsite at WDW. Zip. None. Nada. Not even with a friend with a CM discount.

So....where to stay? We've often rented timeshare weeks at Vistana, and have always been delighted with location and room. Quirkily, we like the Springs section, with the mature landscaping and oversized rooms. (You can skate in the bathroom.)

Right now I have 2 rooms booked at Radisson Celebration, but am leery of it due to reviews. It looks like for the same price I could get a 2 bedroom at the Vistana, but wouldn't particulary want Palm or Courts.

Any experience?

Hi,
The 15th is midweek, right ? I'm on vacation (at Vistana) right now and don't have a calendar.
But with a midweek check-in, it's up for grabs....you could be placed wherever there is availability.

Maria where do they seem to be putting Friday 8/6 checkins?
thanks!
Diane

yes--the 15th is a Wednesday

Hi Diane,
Fridays could be any section they have availability (can't hurt to request what you want), with the Spas being the oldest section you would have the possibility of getting. You should be safe as far as the Courts/Falls go.

Maria
I know you are partial to the Fountains (I dont know if you remember but years ago you helped us our first stay at Vistana by sending an email or letter to them for us) and we stayed in the Lakes I think..but with what we will have available for that Friday 8/6 checkin what order do you suggest as the 'better' units/spots to be? I am of course going to request Cascades but if they wont give it to us it seems they try to push the Fountains (which I know you like)

thanks
Diane

Hi Diane,
I'm not partial to the Fountains I or II.....it's the only place I can stay since I own in that section.
I actually am very partial to the Lakes. It's my fav. Even over the newer Cascades. I like the locale, the larger villas and the more quiet atmosphere and mature foliage/landscaping over there.
Friday check-ins tend to be near a pool but not always. I don't have my map here that shows which specific areas are designated for Friday. But I def know there are sections at the Lakes and Cascades that are Friday arrival and very near the pools.

I would put Cascades as your first choice, followed by Lakes. If they do push the Fountains, ask for Fountains II and definitely make sure it's a water view. There are a few areas in the Fountains II that do not have water view. And of course feel free to drop our names---maybe it will help ? (PM sent)
take care,

You're welcome Diane....and I was wrong. I do have the map with specific villa designations. There is one section of the Cascades that is very close to the Cascades pool. These are villas # 2157 thru 2176. There are other Fri villas, but they are a short walk across the road to the pool (maybe a 4-5 min walk ?).

The Lakes is the same. Some Fri villas are very close (# 1775 thru 1798). Then there is a (Fri) building that is maybe a 5 min walk to the pool.

I'm just afraid you'll limit your options if you get too specific with requests ? I'd stick to "Cascades" first, then "Lakes". I think if you add "close to pool" it might get too specific ? You could always ask at check-in. Note the room numbers I provided, as these are the ones most close to the pool.

Good luck.

Maria,

Hope your trip is still going well. I hope the rain slowed down. We are also checking in on a friday and I documented what you said so when I get to front desk I will be prepared. Thanks again.

Sue
